..... i was about to get seriously fucked off, since i bought a Traktor Kontrol S4 last saturday, and now they are talking about Traktor 2 PRO being shipped with the S4 soon.

..... But it turns out anyone with the S4 gets a free upgrade to the new software.

    Phew!

Obviously i'm going to be biased since i own native instruments gear, but they well and truly have everything nailed right now i reckon. Having bother killer hardware AND software surely has companies like Pioneer well and truly scared?

Watching videos like that, and it makes you wonder why people even bother just mixing two tunes together and calling themselves a 'dj' and expecting that to be the beginning and end of everything - Clearly its gone beyond that now (Not just the musical aspect, but the lighting, the promotion etc etc).

^ agree. And its sooooo addictive. The only problem Im having now is that there are so many sample decks and FXs that Im overdoing it with loops a bit and then making mistakes! Tons of fun learning how to use the S4 though.

I was on Serato previously, the latest Traktor software for the S4 is a million times better, cant wait for Pro 2 now

Loading a tune and hitting 'sync' is just the start eh.

Now the technical difficulty of getting these dj software and midi controllers working together is all but taken away now, its not plausible to be 'cool' just because you've managed to get everything working together nicely - its all done for you now.

The only way forward is the real time remixing, synchronisation with other devices/dj's surely .... well perhaps for anyone wanting to make a difference these days if they just want to go down the 'dj' route, and not explore every other aspect of the EDM scene. Knocking up a standard mix is a piece of piss these days - anyone can do it now.

i've been using ableton for the best part of 6 years but kinda got disillusioned with it over the past 6 months and this looks like it might make me take the jump into the land of Traktor

Is there much of an improvement in quality between the new 6 and 10 audio interfaces and the old 4 and 8 or not?

Well, besides the point theres more inputs and outputs?

Well Ive had time to play around with the software a good bit now and Im slightly disappointed. Having been on the S4 version previously the only difference I can see is the coloured wave forms and no S4 layout.

Never mind, the software is still awesome - spent a long time today mixing using samples only which is incredible really

The sample decks are interesting but I probably won't be using them. I'd rather hook up Ableton.
