the title of the thread say's it all even gary neville said it was the best performance he had known/seen at stoke
I have to say I am very suprised how well they are doing. I don't think it will continue and think mid table is more realistic. But considering money gone out and come in, even a comfortable survival is an achievement.
Reserves unbeaten and top of the league. 1st team unbeaten and 3rd in the league. Could get used to this whole 'winning' malarky...
Unbelieveable start to be fair, from what I have seen Pardew has yous VERY well organised, and the strong spine of krul, colloccini, tiote/cabaye and ba has provided the quality with the players around them knowing their roles and what is needed from them despite arguably not having the quality. Be interesting to see how yous respond after the difficult games coming up and if you can bounce back well from whats probably going to be 2/3 defeats, and then the acid test will come as the season goes on and the key players start picking up knocks / suspensions etc.
Yeh, unfortunately it's never going to last forever but feels nice picking up wins home/away considering 6 months ago we'd sold all our key players. A top 10 finish would be an amazing season for me personally, were potentially going into the Christmas period on 30 points which takes the pressure off relegation at the very least for us. Stroke of genius with the Club discounting tickets for the remaining 13/14 home games, St. James's will be electric with a full house every week.
They also will be saved the embarresment of have less than 40,000 in the stadium, which is the reason behind the move
Aye, suppose playing s'land in the form they're in couldn't really be classed as a 'proper game'. However, Spurs, Arsenal & Stoke on the other hand.....
hilarious work from the NUFC PR dept as well, linking them with "proper" players at the moment. ie not free frogs with suspect nee;s
If we managed to sign Erik Pieters and another decent striker in January I think we'd be a solid unit.
Your playing on confidence, the test comes when the confidence is knocked. They arnt good players but are playing as a good team. Football enables this. This Man Utd side is one of the worst iv seen but they have been great for much of this season.
It was knocked against Blackburn (a struggling club) just last week and we came back to beat Stoke away 3-1? We have scraped some results and been lucky on occasions too, but you can't deny there is quality amongst them. Krul, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Colo and Ba stand out most this season. Can't take anything away from them.
Whats the story behind Jonus? Iv heard him getting praise for "hardwork" WTF? Does he still fall over a lot and toblarone his crosses?
I like him, horrible end product but when he runs he dosnt know where the fuck his legs will take him so the defenders end up fucking up too. He runs and causes outright chaos and panic then falls over... but the chaos and panic continues and you normally end up in good situations or scoring. Dandy fucking Longlegs on speed. I rate him, for his impace not as a player of great skill
