My sources tell me Ibriam Ba will complete a move to NUFC tomo.

Another nice fit for the toon who have a eye for twats.

Ba only signed for WH if he was allowed to include a release clause in his contract, oh and hes failed medicals at other clubs who refused to sign him cause of a dodgy nee.

Hmmmm - he sounds like a has been that cant be arsed to rise to the hype he once uneccesarilly created. hopefully prove me wrong tho as I sort of like what the manager has done so far - and I def like his psycho anology on the game - anything to give the team an edge - not as extreme as glen hoddle tho

Ibrahim Ba? Wasn't he the one who played for France around 98/99 with the bleached blonde hair?

Quite ironic that you post about NUFC fans being quiet (I'm presuming that's what you're getting at) when these are your first football related posts in weeks, if not months, just because SAFC finally actually won a game and went above NUFC for the first time in nearly 2 years.

    Troll much??

Small things please small minds eh? Remember you are only 2 points above us. Yes wow, a whole 2 points.

Ok shall we bring up SAFC's results under O'Neill (with his "unreal squad"), Bruce, Keane and McCarthy, total seasons spent in Premier League compared to NUFC, number of times relegated compared to NUFC...

Yes we lost away to Man Utd and Arsenal. But so do most teams, SAFC included.

I'll tell you what, come back at the end of the season and we'll see who's had the better season

    Good luck v Bolton

    Gutted Ba has left.

Replacing him will cost us £20-30 million in todays footballing currency - forget that under the current regime.

Having said that, there was a great article in The Telegraph claiming Ba was more of a slow deep rot on morale and we may be better off without him (I can't see it just yet personally, but yu' know): http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...Demba-Ba-the-ultimate-football-mercenary.html

Cisse being played IN position for the 1st time this season will reap dividends. I think his 1st season on Tyneside proved that until Ba spat the dummy and subsequently got his own way, to the detriment of the whole team.

Worrying times. I don't care 'who we've got injured' or 'who we may be signing' its not looking good for NUFC, the gulf in quality when our star players get injured is shockingly poor.

I think we'll be ok, but a relegation dog-fight is almost certainly on the cards.

Andy Carroll would still be there with about 12 goals. Loving life and loving NUFC.

    Such is life eh.

You got evidence of this, because he hasn't scored a single goal for West Ham this season in a team that plays to his strengths...

Cisse proved what he can do in the middle last season and will do again the rest of this season.

Remy looks like coming in at just under £10m, for a player of his record, quality and age is a very good deal.

SAFC linked with a £5m bid for Danny Graham of Swansea, who is a Championship player imo, and considering the amount of chances Swansea have created in the last 2 seasons, his goal record is very poor...

Look at his form for Newcastle.

You cant then compare a player dropped and forgotten in the Liverpool reserves.

Most intelligent Skunks would agree with me. Your just in pain. I understand it.

Of course I can compare, you taking about his form 2 years ago, I am taking about the here and now mate - the fact is West Ham play to his strengths and he hasnt scored a single goal for them - it shouldn't matter who he plays for, if that team plays to his strengths he should bang them in, and he isn't.

We bought in a "replacement" for him who performed really well, then we bought Cisse, who when played through the middle, and was on a par with Ba, but then had to accommodate Ba when he spit his dummy out. Now Cisse will play through the middle again, and his first game without Ba ended with him getting a goal, so kinda proves my point.

SAFC going for the likes of Danny Graham, Louis Saha, Carlos Cuellar and James McFadden (all these guys are part of this "unreal squad", remember, despite being utter garbage) as opposed to NUFC going for Debuchy (who we've got), Remy, etc speaks volumes about where the 2 clubs are, irrespective of current league positions.

Yes Ba did well, scored goals that helped us get into Europe (as did Cisse, Cabaye and Ben Arfa), but he was never going to stay, so that's fair enough. It's best that he's gone now with time to bring in a replacement. He won't get anywhere near the starting line-up for Chelsea, so it's clear that money is his motivation, because it's not Champions League is it? Not really the kind of player we want around the team tbh.

You are the ONLY person still harping on about that donkey Carroll, 2 years after he left us. Get over it, we did, a while ago.

    Proof??

I agree James, its all in the past now. It was great having Ba and Carroll before him but you have to move on and although we are struggling a bit at the minute with injuries we have the making of a good young ambitious and capable team.

Saying that though I would take Carroll back! At a bargain price of course ;)

Good to see Scumderland are aiming high with their signings again

Are we talking about the same 'always and currently injured' Andy Carroll who didn't want to play for NUFC?

Keep him for me. He doesn't look after himself and as a result he's constantly injured. Liverpool learned very quickly he wouldn't justify his record breaking fee and West Ham are now baring the brunt too.

I'm glad (to an extent) we have take the hard line on wages, fees, contracts. Once upon a time we would have thrown stupid money at situations like this. We've been there before, overcome worse and come out on the other side better.

Ba has very cleverly secured his future finances with this Chelsea deal. He knows he'll become a bit-part player, which suits him with his previous injuries, only difference is that he'll now be picking up a salary double what he was being paid at NUFC. As much as it cynically pains me to say it, I'd rather we struggled without players like him. Being fed false hope with a group of mercenaries will bite you time and time again over.

His press conference at Chelsea today ratifies the real Demba Ba: 'I've hit the big time' 'Chelsea is on another level, this is not West Ham or Newcastle'. Maybe so, but we were there when no other Chelsea, Stoke or 'big time' wanted him: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...castle-United-after-arriving-at-Chelsea.html#

He now joins the list of 'Gone and very easily forgotten'.
