Good to see we are buying a defender, last two games illustrate we need help in that dept! Debuchy should be a good addition to the team. Will Ba go? I would if I was him. He'll do well in a better team. Just hope we replace him because Cisse is awful at the moment
Just spotted this on the beeb: Sunderland are in talks to sign former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill, 33, on loan from current side New York Red Bulls. (Press Association)
Cahill would be a class signing for Sunderland, that's if he's still at his Everton standard.. I know the mls is a lot slower pace.
Who knows. His "representatives" have spread lots of rumours over the last year or so. He probably will leave during this window though, where to who knows. I read that we have to pay him a £2m loyalty fee when he does go - bloody footballers eh?!
Just read this on Sky: Demba Ba's representatives have told Sky Sports News that they do not expect the Newcastle striker to join Chelsea after an unproductive meeting on Sunday evening.
Ba needs to go to end all the farce and speculation. He's holding Cisse back. Cisse in middle, Ben Arfa one side and get Remy in, put him on other side and that's a hell of a front 3. Great we're signing Debuchy, he really stood out during the Euro's. Bring in another CB like that Sakho and we'll be just fine. Two bits of gossip on the beeb: Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is lining up a £3m move for West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie, 31, as a replacement for Demba Ba, 27, who is eyeing a move to Chelsea. Newcastle will move for West Ham striker Modibo Maiga, 25, if a proposed deal for Marseille's 25-year-old Loic Remy fails to go through.
We'll never sign Odemwingie. Not in Ashley's spec in terms of age and re-sale value, and I agree. Not sure why we'd want Maiga a second time after he kicked off after "failing" his NUFC medical. I do believe it will be Remy, if not , it'll be that Aubameyang lad who looks very good. Then there's that France U-21 defender Mirin who we've supposedly bid for. Apparently Douglas has slipped down the pecking order in terms of who we want.
