great night - i was on another planet (or ten) for most of it (apologies to anyone who tried to speak to me between 12 and 3am and got nothing but mumbles) but had a right laugh .... afters was an 'experience' thats for sure - Someone will be waking up today wondering what happened to all the hair on their head ... First time hearing live 'new monkey' MC'ing in a hotel room aswell ..... im surprised that after 20 odd years dj'ing, paul oakenfold cant manage to take two tunes and match the tempo's on them - some great tunes selected but he must have been taking cues from network rail and their engineers with all the trainwrecks that seemed to happen for 45 bloody minutes! Roll on the next one.
some total random asked one of the lads in our group to shave his mates head (who was out cold in his room) naturally he agree'd and the whole thing was video'ed ..... unfortunately it wasnt exactly a nicky clarke level cut - more a hack job, given it was about 5am at the time
yer maybe got a busy month so gona see how it goes probley 50 50 had a good nite at crasher was all about the banter. eddie crowd surfing again!!
good be good to see you 2 its been a million years sunday was all about the banter in newcastle how could you be mistaken lol
I missed the croud surfing :spangled: may have left before the end of his set, but Im sure I was there when Fred Baker came on :spangled: Im confused Sorry I wasnt much crack back at hotel, i was a little worse for wear. Hopefully see you for Digs/Mick's birthday
There was still about a half hour of Eddie left after you went. Crasher was totally fucking mint. Can anyone here confirm for Stephen that the sound system is most deffinitely not shit? Greg Downey was alright, was hardly playing his usual style on the warmup though. Cut off Paulo Mojo - 1983 before the good bit straight into some breakdown on another track - what happened there! I'll usually defend Oakenfold but he was really quite shit. He started all right, middled out pretty crap then ended on a good one. Southern Sun and Universal Nation. Completely trainwrecked over half his mixes. Me and miller went into the VIP area and saw him standing there with his mates, he just did not want to speak to us at all. Told miller he won't do anything like lotherton hall because he isn't really bothered about DJ'ing just now and lives in LA and suprisingly wouldn't do me a retro goa trance mix. Wouldn't play any tracks either. Also didn't seem very up for this photo. I don't think he liked us. At the end my mate from sheffield was showing me how the fuck to get back to the travel lodge and oakenfold was coming out the back with two head kandi looking blonde girls, he looked up and saw me, his face dropped and he spun round hoping I wouldn't see him and they were like "what are you doing". My mate went "that's paul oakenfold isn't it" to which I replied "nah, just some kid with a mullet". Take that oakenfold you shit cunt. Halliwell came on and rinsed the place. Proper driving trance, sounded absolutely class. Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Tyas Mix) and Kay Cee - Love Stimulation. Fred Baker was alright, far too hard and no consideration at all for the next DJ. Thankfully didn't play any of that "electro trance" shit, just very hard and techy. Played what sounded like a hardstyle mix of For An Angel. Think any fans would have been mortified. Fleming came on and did all he could following from that, bang out the most driving tough Psy Trance I've ever heard. People were loving it and the place/me was in bits. Binary Finary - 1998 (Protoculture Mix), Violent Vision - Cellophane (Sub6 Mix), John 00 Fleming Vs. Wizzy - Cydonia and Astrix - Incoming. Played two one more tunes. Afters was mint aswell, ended up well weird. Watching Jeremy Kyle with loads of disfigured people, we weren't sure if it was us or them. Mint night and good to see everyone. Can't believe everyone had left by the time Fred Baker was on ¬
Here is what everyone missed from Fleming: http://youtube.com/watch?v=5-q3gySFKrU http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZYtx4o-5q9o http://youtube.com/watch?v=gbYFY_YvpcU http://youtube.com/watch?v=VRAkyYt_dGY
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh miller and oakie are brothers and rossy didnt realise audtions were been held for dawn of the dead
he griefed poor mick as well. i cant believe he tells his fans that - especially when they turn up and pay the prices to see him. Granted the club is full off people off their nut, but theres nothing wrong with a handshake and a smile. Or even just a 'maybe one day' if someone asks him if he'd do x,y,z. he's got no excuse to turn up and knack every tune up, especially when the other dj's can use the same equipment and rinse the place.
Mick met Oakenfold and he was a total cock, so was the so called arsehole 'body guard' who I could of drop kicked no problem I heard about Jeremy Kyle. Mick has a mint photo of you on his camera, your proper chuffed Who played Tiesto's new tune? Was that Eddie or at the end of Jokenfold's set???
To be fair he wasn't that bad, he didn't want to speak to us at all but he wasn't a cunt about it like I've heard some DJ's are. He was saying that he wasn't really into DJ'ing anymore and that he was doing a lot of producing for films just now. That is the worst I've seen him play, every other time was spot on. I'm glad I've seen him do three good sets out of four. Zoe - get them up, think I remember them being taken peak Halliwell. About that time I think buckled most deffinitely will be the word Linzi.
He was a total arsehole to Mick! We paid money to see him and he didnt even put any effort into the set at all, his tunes were brill but my 5 year old son could of mixed better than that, Miller could of even mixed better, and thats saying something Oakey has been most people's favourite dj at some point but he seems to forget that his loyal fans have got him where he is. Rant Over! Mick has the photo's will tell him to get them up after work
