Re: Re: Rough Pubs The Bangla brings back some memories Tommy Finn owned that if im correct the holmesies were always fighting down that way
Coach and horses in wallsend was pretty bad - i know a lad who used to work there with Viv graham - he says he was a sound bloke - he only got mean if u crossed him, heard all the stories of how it's haunted and he'd take people down the cellar and leave them there for a few hours - to proper freak them out. although, i hardly drink locally - there's just no where 'nice'
Re: Re: Re: Rough Pubs tommy finlay took over later on,was rougher before then tho. my uncle used to have another bar at the bottom called "the station" in lemington.that was supposed to be a rough hole, i was too young then tho !!
was doing a refit on a new homebase in blyth, and me hotel was in whitley bay....(duno why they put me in a hotel im only a metro ride away...) anyway on saturday night i was walkin around whitley with some lads from work and everywhere i walked past looked rougher than anything id seen before.... there was one bar that was just a black doorway ( i think it was called smokeys bar or summit like that, near the 'hungry turk' takeaway if anyone knows whitley) and it just looked like a black room playin clubland cd's....some of the lasses going into it man, you wouldnt wish them on your worst enemy..
It has to be Shaggys! It is the shittest bar ever, I have been in once since the age of 18 and someone threw a Lambrini bottle out of the open window onto the parade. I still wonder to this day how the hell the kid who done it got a bottle of Lambrini past the bouncers and didnt get noticed by the staff. Needless to say, I will never go back there.
