Pioneer CD Decks 800s vs 1000s. Im seriously considering getting a pair but cant decide on which ones to get. What exactly are the advantages/extra features of having 1000's? Is it really worth paying the extra cash or will the 800's do the job. Is it like getting a cheaper alternative to 1210's? I ended up getting Technics after having a pair of Numark decks and in the long run lost out on £. Am i likely to do the same again? Whats peoples opinions?
I'll sell you my 800 mk1's for £600 800's are easily good enough for bedroom use. In the 2 years ive had them ive never seen the point in upgrading them to 1000's and im really glad i didnt.
Your bound to say that though. I want unbiased opinions not sales opportunitys! But iam slightly interested...
My opinion is totally unbiased. I really dont think you need to spend the extra hundreds for the 1000's.
thats a mint price actually, how old are they??? av already got two but my mate wants another one, would u sell them separately or strictly as a pair?
The 800s are deffinitely the ones to go for, infact I'd pay more for a pair of 800s than I would for two pairs of 1000s. I'll give you £231882 for them.
I bought them in 1994, but I've never even opened the boxes so they are still probably in great condition. Yeah I'll sell them separately as long as it's to the same person.
to be honest if you can spare the cash go for the 1000s, much better imo. specially with the hotcues, and the ability to store them onto a memory card. just my opinion like, doesnt really matter.
1000's are much better imo like, look really really classy and the few extra features are class, on the mk3s how u can adjust the strength of the jog wheel is sweet, and the way you can see the track breakdowns & etc meaning you will never get caught out! Advise anyone to get the 1000's over the 800's. The price difference isnt that much is it? 400 or summik well worth it tho! COOL AS FUCK
Of all the people who I've known with CDJ's (alot), i've never known anyone who uses the memory card. If you've got a laptop/turntables then i would get Serato, its a hell of a lot cheaper aswell If you havent then why not get 1 800 and 1 1000? both have their benefits. Unless you've got money to burn then i cant see the point of spending £1300 on 2 cd players to use at home, the tunes you buy are much more important than the gear you use
i've never heard or even SEEN anyone using que-points of a memory stick... it's like WAP on mobile... nice but never properly used
I also dont really know many people who use hot cues either you might aswell just make an edit of the track beforehand, far less risky than the 5-pint-itchy-trigger-finger
Ive only ever seen Kutski using the hotcues before & video of DJ Shadow! Would prefer the 1000s to have the loops like the 800s
