neighbours how do you go about complaining about problem neighbours? they are tenants renting the property next door obviously the first step would be to speak to them directly but what happens after that?
We had noisy neighbours upstairs last year so we complained first to our neighbours who said they'd be more considerate but never were. Then we went through our landlords. They did very little so we complained to their landlord who was a silly cow and refused to help. We then went to the council but it was gonna take ages and there was little point when we'd already decided to move out. Depending on the problem its essential to keep a detailed diary of the incidents and keep it up to date. When making a complaint try and work up by going through the tenants and landlords before getting the council to help, as it shows you're serious and have exhausted every avenue. Hope everything gets sorted for ya
true, and what you can do seems to take a lot of time and patience. best way to get noticed would be to ring up and say the neighbours shout allahu akhbar and buy a lot of fertilizer, they'd have the door down in seconds
they've only been in for 2 days so will give them the benefit of the doubt first but i went round before as we are getting out cavity wall done and he had to check something out, the first thing he said when i walked in was welcome to the party stoner house this was not wat i wanted to hear at 12 in the afternoon on a wednesday
ps the house was bought by a property company who have done it up and rented it out (grant management) would they be arsed if we complained or dya think as long as they are getting the rent they dont really care?
if they are noisy get in there as early as poss, we left it too late so when we finally decided to take it higher there was no point as both us and the knobs upstairs would have moved out before anything could have been done.
it really depends on how decent they are... our landlords only went so far before giving up. its worth going through them and seeing if they will take some of the burden off ya shoulders but there's no guarantee with property owners... they're very hit and miss. i suppose if you're not causing them any bother and paying rent/bills on time then they should be more willing to help.
My mate had this same problem and situation - All you can do is complain to everybody concerned. Keep a record of what you've done and if they are blasting music till all hours you can report them for this. The biggest thing is to not let it get to you becuase when you do every little noise boils your piss and you end up winding yourself up.
aye very true, i got wound up to the point of smashing my baseball bat through the ceiling at 4 in the morning during one of their late night noise fests... it shut them up and did actually make me feel a whole lot better. so in conclusion, my advice would be mindless violence if all else fails.
we have them - although we did a few things that turned them from being a nightmare, to hearing a few shuffles late at night now and then ... 90% better (touch wood). Do all these at the same time 1. notify your lettings agent that you have a problem with the noise and will be withholding rent and looking to cancel your rental agreement due to 'unsatisfactory living conditions'. 2. Call the landlord and say you like living where you are, but will be probably looking to move out very soon since you are unable to sleep at nights due to the neighbours, and its affecting you physically. 3. Call the council and their environmental health department (not the police) and explain the situation. Ask to be given a letter and a timesheet where you can record and submit when they are being noisy with a view to having proceedings brought against them and/or their noise making equipment confiscated. 4. (OPTIONAL) Photocopy the timesheet and stick it to your neighbours front door. ... the tenant will probably have all three people on their case on or around the same time - and the fear of being turfed out will put the frighteners up them. Worked for me
.... although come to think of it - since you arent a tenant (im assuming) then everything but point 3 + 4 wont apply to you. Being a tenant has its perks
Just make twice as much noise as they do to make them realise what it's like. If that doesn't work then go around and literally rip out one of there voice boxes. If they still keep making noise then i reckon you should move like.
I dont think anyone will be able to do anything at all between certain hours of the day. Isnt it form 11-9 or something? I just met my new neighbours on monday. I think thats the only nice conversation im ever going to have with them because there going to realise what a fucking idiot i am once i move in.
