wardy, they all go together the same, join the beats and thats about it.

it what you do to it that makes it different - there are no rules.

most people i know don't share my enthusiasm for half the genres I'm in to - just go with what you like, life's too short for pigeon hole's and trying to be cool

    Ykts mate

@ Wardy: Just go and see established DJ's, download their sets, buy their mix CD's & listen to how they do it.

Knowing your tunes is the main thing though :)

trance, Techtrance and a bit house and breaks.

would love to get into different style but lack of CD decks means i would have to buy loads more records and my wallet cannot handle.

Makina tbh is pile. it's far too cheesy for my liking. the old hardcore stuff they used to play in the afterdark was good.

    couple of examples

    Cocoon - Dark Base
    Gollum - Dirty Circus
    monstersound!

apart from that, a sqeaky synth played far too loud in my genral direction is no good. i've just sort of accepeted gabba as a form of music and thats just noise! but nu-monkey "specialaz waxa choonage" isnt my bag - although i used to be a top-drawer fred perry warrior years ago, growing out of it wasnt that tough
