Serious Management, took the booking in good faith and the booking was confirmed. However, Simon Raines (The Promoter Of Gatecrasher) found out about this booking and was immediately on the phone expressing his disgust.

Unfortunately for Matt Hardwick he had to cancel this set with PaSSion otherwise he would have lost his residency at Gatecrasher."

i could understand if GC was still weekly, but they have fucked that off

it is a shame, cos loads of people want to see matt play, and im sure he wants to play @ passion too...

crasher going monthly means less work and less $$$ for matt suppose he's gotta take more gigs to make as much as he was before.

Apparently the other year when Picotto was some sort of resident, that in his contract it had that he couldnt play anywhere within a certain distance of crasher, which just happend to cover Passion.

it's kind of a fact of life.

here we have contracts with out suppliers saying that they won't supply anyone else in the newcastle/sunderland artea.

i suppose at the end of the day its all down to business!

As far as I know, Mr Raines has this 'blanket' covering in all of the DJ's contracts who play at the club. I think, if I recall, that the area is a 150 mile exclusion zone around Gatecrasher. This is to prevent loss of revenue on the night, should the DJ have a second booking in a near by city.

I mean, I would be one of the first to walk to Passion after listening to Matt at Crasher, wouldn’t you?

this kind of contract exists all the time in club culture, another example Paul Taylor isn't allowed to play a Retro (house classics') set within something like a 100 mile radius of Tall Trees. just businessmen looking after their interests

So Matt could have played at Passion if he wanted but would have proably not been booked again by Gatecrasher.

If Shearer decied on Monday he wants to play for Sunderland on Tuesday he cant. As Newcastle United hold his player registration, not him. Also players can only move clubs at certain times EU law.

i was talkin to bob @ godsk.. and if i remember rightlee.. kerry cant play for godsk like she did back in march if they have it up here again...
