    Coz thats only your opinion (defeats the whole point of a poll:rolleyes: )! I know that a lot of people are used to Technics and dont want to change but I dont think that is a good enough reason to discount Vestax!

    personally I prefer the Technics but I do think that the Vestax are improving a hell of a lot and want to hear what other people have to say!!!:)

    I ve just got some Technics, and since i got them, i ve improved so much... but i guess i ve never used vestax, so i wouldnt know how they feel....

    best bets to try em both out surely...

    My toothbrush has more torque than technics...

    Technics are the industry standard cos for 30 years they were the only fucking pro table, people like what they're USED to - it don't make technics a better table though...

    When technics ditched the mark 2's last year they'd made 1 fucking upgrade in however many years, no research, little marketing... they basically couldn't give 2 fucks about the deck... they finally pull their thumb out 30 years later and the revolutionary mark 3's most revolutionary feature is a new power switch... They've done to little too late, other modern companies have leaped light years ahead of Technics...

    There is nothing at all that makes technics superior to vestax other than reputation and familiarity... People are comfortable with what they're used to.

    My persdonal deck of choice is vestax pdx 3ds (only quible is the reverse switch is far to slow :D), I think the numark tt-x1's look amazing too....

    sum1 has mentioned in the music section about the numark tt-x1 and i have to say that this turntable is also a threat to technics, even though every1 is so used to the 1210s there is alot more competition these days! :D

    vestax are simply the better deck!!

    technics may be industry standard but that doesn't make them better!

    they simply sell because people think they are the best.. or because people want to practice on the equipment they will inevitably be using.

    the vestax are class ;)

    Have to agree with smarite a little that the LARGE amount of djs that use them do so coz they are used to them. Clubs are just providing them coz dj are used to them which makes them the standard which was my original point!


    I will be getting Technics however coz durability is the main problem with some of the new decks that are threatening Technics. This is the main reason that I will not be getting the PDX2000!!!:D

    Vestax have stronger torque yes... but its all about the feel, Technics has this, pitching up and down on vestax is instant, making it hard to get use to, where with Technics is alot smoother, making your ear the main tool NOT THE MECHANICS!

    Ive used both on a number of occasions and Technics wins every time!

    Anyone else seeing similarities between Microsoft and Technics?

    At least Microsoft bother to add new features to their products occasionally, all Technics have done is fixed their major fuckups on the mk2s.

    You wonder if they actually bothered talking to djs before knocking out these new decks.

    Can't speak for the numarks... but vestax are built like tanks... why use dated technology... when u buy a games console you don't buy a super nintendo cos it'll last longer and its what your used to...

    which proves my point, the only reason technics are considered better is because its what people are USED TO!

    Once your used to vestax they are far more powerful and accurate peice of machinary....

    Technics make Microsoft look like the perfect company... They have a monopoly on a market they couldn't give 2 fucks about...

    I think most people would agree that the Technics durability is second to none. And a lot of people have rated them as such!

    The reason you wouldnt buy a super Nintendo coz they last longer is because consoles use a diffent media type every time!!! I want my decks to last a long time but if the media type was changed then everyone would be fooked coz vinyl is the only thing that goes with decks(better analogy next time please ;) ):lol: :lol: :lol:
