From Wikipedia: "In 1997, the Guttmacher Institute estimated the number of abortions in the U.S. past 24 weeks to be 0.08%."

There are restrictions on late term abortions (ie medical reasons only), so it's not exactly commonplace.

I was walking out the door to go to work at Safeways. It didn't even register. I saw the plane crashing into the second tower on the news and just continued walking. When I got to work everyone was talking about it. It was only then I realised that I'd seen.

I was working at Sitel and we were all told to log off and come to the TV room, all the footage was on the news which we watched for about 5 mins n then we all got told to go home as Sitel is an American company. The most shockin scenes i'll prob see in my life time.

If i remember rightly PVD was meant to be playin promise that Friday and he cancelled because of sept 11th and done no gigs that weekend, instead hardwick played a 5hr.

The worlds in debt to him for that lone stand he took in respect for those who'd lost loved ones.

Was at New College Durham, then went back to my ex-lasses in Stanley and watched the events unfold live on the TV. Weird day cos it was Liverpool's first ever game in the Champions League that night.

ex gf arrived home from holiday a few days previous. she had been a slag and we broke up. we had a birthday party to go to the day after. we went together as friends. within minutes of arriving at some pub in shields, i sat down and broke the screen of my phone on the arm of the chair. the night was a disaster, i left and went to shindig, blah blah etc etc...

days later, i was in a phone shop ripping the assistant off of 30 quid. had screen fixed when a kid from the back shop told us about the first tower. i then sat for the rest of the day in the flat above bar bht watching the world turn in to a disaster zone.

marty, that fixed phone was the one you dropped in a pint of water at edendale soon after

I was just coming in from work when the first tower was hit.
Like most others I sat and watched the rest of it all day.
I was sad to see and when you visit Ground Zero it is a little bit spooky.
    Here's a picture I took there:

I was working in Safeway, and a mate who worked at the pub next door got sent over to buy a couple of things, saw me and said "have you heard? some nutters just crashed a plane into the World Trade Centre". Can remember the exact spot in the shop the conversation took place as well.

Then i finished and went home an hour or so later, and watched the news constantly for the next 9-10 hours.
