well for a start the cradle of civilisation in the west was Egypt which, last time I looked, was in Africa.
the Ashanti empire lasted for several hundred years and won three wars against the Brits before final defeat by modern rifles and cannon.

The Benin empire constructed the second largest structure on the planet (after the great wall of China) with ramparts 60 metres high around the city with bronze casting techniques superior to europe in the middle ages (go see them in the British Museum now since we stole them in the 19th century)

The Shona built a great stone city in Zimbabwe in the 11th century
    And so on.

Modern African states are the creation of colonialists like the UK and are always going to be unstable because they don't reflect the ethnic makeup of the people. Nigeria for instance is composed of three main groups who are culturally very different.

There is a lot wrong with Africa. corruption being the main one but to deny that Africans are capable of being civilised is racist shite

Its a shame to think it, but i think in our lifetime we will NEVER see any progress made in Africa.

Unless something drastic happens, all that continent can ever look forward to is famine, and war.

Progress is made all the time.

Rwanda and Ethiopia for a start. Rwanda has ended the horrific civial war and now has a majority female ruling party (possibly not a good thing  ). Its still massively poor compared to most but to say there is no progress is stupid.

We all know what happened in Ethiopia in the 80's but it now has one of the fastest growing economies outside the west which is pretty good considering it has no oil.

Zimbabwe, Congo and Somalia are obviously pretty fuckin offside at the moment but there are plenty of sucess stories over there.

Baby steps maybe, but its a fucking shocking example of just how much this world 'cares' when after nigh on 2 decades passing since 'Live Aid' that the situation looks no better. The idea that foreign aid and collection boxes are going to solve or at least put a dent in these problems is hopeful at best.

Granted there is progress here and there, but for every country that makes a shift forward, it feels like another 2 slip back into genocide or some other crisis.

Exactly... short of pretty much turning up, invading and handing food to people directly and watching them eat it .... then you can bet the majority of the wonga lines someone elses pocket.

We do of course, try and install governments covertly, but this is proving to be more difficult in Africa than it is elsewhere like the Middle East.

It's his style to portray himself as being nervous and naive in order to lull his subject into volunteering more information than they prehaps would with a more aggressive interviewer

Has Black Africa had a super civilisation tho? The Morocans of Carthage and the Egyptians whent exactly black where they

Africa is a deep dark black hole for western money, we keep throwing money and condons at them and they keep shagging standing up refusing to wear condoms. "As long as a slaughter a goat I wont catch AIDS" mentality

The population is unsustainable and in a few years its going to implode the whole continent will be plunged into a massive famine and millions of fugees will be looking for a new home.

A lot of the countrys are fucking deserts for fucks sake, stop shagging and build a dam :spangled:
