Wax:On - Announcement Firstly, many thanks to everyone who joined us on Friday 6th Feb for another amazing Wax:On. Massive thanks to Cleer, Binni did a great job of hosting the back room, both rooms went completely off and it was definitely a night to remember. Leading on from this, we would like to announce that we will no longer be hosting artists such as Cassy, Matthew Dear, Lindstrom and Ricardo Villalobos at Wax:On. We are embarking upon an exciting new project. There will be more news to follow very soon! Thanks, Wax:On www.waxonuk.com
Re: Wax:On - Announcement As much as it's a shame not to see names like that at Wax:On anymore, with the amount of nights booking dj's of a similar style in Newcastle it's not exactly the end of the world. You's have kind of slowly moved away from a whole bill of those kind of artists for a while now too. Good luck with the new project - Look forward to hearing what it is
yes what we want are some more of the same local djs playing minimal tech house on rotation and we want the venues open til 8am as there is a very big demnd for it i would also urge lots of bars to turn themselves into night clubs and start charging me to get in ps: for the bar owners ... it would be a double bonus if you could remove stuff like tables and chairs so I can have a bit of a shimmy in said establishments :angel2:
correct me if I am wrong here medicine man but where exactly am I having a go at waxn. and I dont see you having a go at teknofish - but thatll be because he will pull your arms out of your sockets like a wookie when next he bumps into you so: tell me what exactly are waxn telling us???? cos for the most part I can't see what earth shaterring news they are communicating
are you having a laugh lol its like the same 6or7 local names on rotation everywhere the only thing that is ruling in my book is the world of brown nosing and networking and the growth of the minimal scene owes more to peoples ability to surf facebook and myspace than owt else however mister k , i am impressed at the new term youve coined .... ''slickback techno jock''. for the most part tho these djs should be banned from using the term techno - as they dont play techno TECHNO = DAVE CLARKE - RED 2 - WISDOM TO THE WISE MIX anyway thats off subject youve missed my point I was trying to take the pi** out of camp david's transformation into what it believes is a ''club''
What is Techno? Discuss.................. Oh and if you could continue this on my Cleer thread for the obvious bumping then please do
Exactly what I was thinking. I know what my idea of techno is- dave clarke, ben sims, surgeon, regis etc etc but the vast majority of people now don't see that sound as 'techno', in fact I doubt they've even heard that kind of music before
who gives a fuck if its techno or not, its the same old argument. thats not techno. oooh thats not house. who gives a flying fuck its all house or techno in some form or another!!
To be honest, I couldn't give a shit most of the time, the only time that I get really bothered is when I go to the 'techno' section of beatport and have to wade through massive swathes of mnml tchn to find one or two nasty rattly tunes. I guess thats personal preference tho
melt, i'm sure even pike is mature enough not to take the board seriously and carry it into real life. wax on are probably telling us that they're sticking with breaks/erol/simian and making a separate venture for minimal. doesn't seem that hard to grasp to me? and if people want to put on £150 jeans and pay £3 to get into a bar, that's up to them. it certainly sounds a more appealing option than knocking about with people in combat pants with dogs on strings listening to psy-trance in a field...
