ok then. In a burst of uncharacteristic positivity.
Good sound systems. Places that feel like they have a past with an apparent lack of interior design. clean toilets that lock. cold water. DJ's who can feel where a room is at and feed the energy levels. Dancing like a loon and feeling that's ok cos everybody else is too. Beautiful women in not many clothes. Smiling. Security staff who are there to sort out bother and otherwise stay out of view. Promoters who love the music and want everybody else to love it too.
Variety of genres, people, ages, backgrounds mixed together. Great visuals / light shows / performers. And making friends

I always love catching up with the regulars, people I hardly see, people off the board etc, always look forward to the banter.

The fact I've met so many people thru these boards and heard so much music I maybe wouldn't have heard otherwise.

    Decent soundsystems

a good lighting/visual show. The 2manydj's gig at the 02 was a perfect example of mint visuals.

    decent soundsystems and lighting.
hearing a track or a style of music you've never been introduced to before (and loving it to bits)
promoters who do their very best to make you feel wanted/welcome at an event.
punters who don't care what you're wearing or how you're dancing.

That lush vocal track - you know the one. Its still unreleased but everyone already knows the words to ever verse. When it drops there is a sudden increase in energy and a smile on everyones face. Shivers up your spine as the crowd sing it back at the DJ

Perfectly keyed/harmonic mixes at the end of a 16 bar loop.

If you are off your box and gawking blankly at the lasers or light show with a massive grin on your face, its almost as if god/allah/jehova/buddha/yoda had spent a million years searching the cosmos just to find those two tunes that when mixed at a certain point would cause some kind of once in a lifetime planetary alignment where everything is just perfect.

I usually do a little bit of wee in my pants at that point, and grin a little harder.

Good lighting / visual show makes it for me. First time I ever went to Trance Energy, had no idea what it would be like & I was totally amazed by it. Probs why I found this years totally shite!

Discovering a DJ for the first time, & downloading every mix you can by them to try & emulate what you heard in the club

Hearing that one tune that totally changes the night

The ringing in your ears in the morning

Soundsystems so perfect that it emphasises the bass and every little kick, sample or effect can be heard without a horrible hiss like it's been set up to be loud, and that's it. Just loud.
The rare occurance in Newcastle when you're having an amazing night and the venue is just as full at 3am as it was at midnight.
When a track drops and you just look at your mates, with the hairs standing up on your arms, and grin. Possibly with a slight nod back at you to confirm 'they know'.
When kicking out time comes, and passes, yet the tunes just keep on coming.
Nights where everyone is there for the same reason and you meet new friends, not make enemies.
Decent bar prices. Being served by decent bar staff.
Sharing your last two pills with the lad/lass you met earlier and clicked.
Nights that don't play the same shit from start to finish at the same speed.
    BACK ROOMS.
Lazers at the right time, not just for the sake of it.
Clubs where people keep the coke to the afterpartys.
    Shindig at the Baltic.
Free entry or in for a couple of quid and end up having the best night of the year.
    Decent residents.
When your come up and come down is in perfect sync with the flow of the night. Amazing

Getting a good suck at the back of a dancefloor by an overweight horrendous boiler in close proximity to a doorman, who is totally oblivious to the oral delight unfolding so close to his steroid packed main arteries.

    Yes sir.

    Good music,
Warm up Dj's that know how to warm up.
When the bass comes in on a good track on a good system.
People who like a variety of music and don't judge poeple who like different stuff to them and don't mind nerding out about new record finds.
    Banter at after partys.
Meeting new people and having a laugh with them.
Meeting People who are passionate about music but not up there own arse or into scene politics or fashions.
The Energy in a room when it goes off and it's smiles all
    round the venue.

Nothing irks me more than people who like strictly one or two specific styles as opposed to the broad and wonderful spectrum that is electronic music.

Exactly the same people that will be over it in a year or two once the drugs stop working.

shameful i know but the time me and cox junior went to see guetta the first time he was on at digital. We hid upstairs for his first 45 mins of commercial indulgence but then absolutely loved it when he tunred to serious business and started throwing some proper tunes at us (much to my surprise) and all the posers, massive v-neck tops, sunglass wankers etc etc went running looking for somewhere to hide. Turned out to be pretty good night and gave me such amusement laughing at all the little pricks kicking off and saying it was shit cause it wasn't just stuff off galaxy all night! Twisted but so is my sense of humour :)

aye totally off the hook that mate

Guetta is a massive cringe and has been for ages now. Consider this (probably again):

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zx0YYRb5VI"]YouTube - DAVID GUETTA FAIL!!! (full version, music stops twice!!)[/ame]

loving the "RELOAD" chants as well. apparently this geeza's 2nd best DJ in the world
