Word on the street is that he's DEFINITELY off in the summer, gutted as he's been one of our best players for the past 2 seasons.
to be fair pike does have a point, have you got micks tea ready? where are you lot getting this info from on the toon? do you really think we will sell our best assets? i mean yeah i know we sold carol but i really cant see us selling jose and tiote like
He has a year left on his contract and doesnt look like he wants to sign another one.If a big club comes in hes gone
He was his typical self tonight, tries to play himself out of a corner & gets caught. Happened twice in the first half Will be a massive miss. Hope we keep hold of him, Barton & Tiote
Liverpool have already agreed a deal to sign Newcastle's £15m-rated left-back Jose Enrique at the end of the season.
Hes gone, SSNews just confirmed it, fee agee'ed and personal terms. Dont hate him guys hes been a legend for you.
Can't blame him for wanting to leave. He's stuck with us through thin and... well... thin. Unbelievable player, will be a huge asset for Liverpoool. Scary times for NUFC. Ashley and Lambias have flogged all our best players within a 6 month period. Something I've never seen at any Football Club in my entire life?
His plan is basically to just survive to get the tv rights and sell the best performing players each season. All well and good from a business point of view but will just disillusion the crowds and as a result the players aswell.
It's impossible to judge what either of them (Ashley/Lambias) are thinking. Just when you think a business decision couldn't be any more misguided, they go and sell all of there best players in the blink of an eye. Despite the NUMEROUS threads pike has started recently (should really look at changing the name of the forum) he does actually have a point. The NUFC fans are now in a very scary position where Ashley can pretty much do what he wants with the squad, individual players and our money with very little or no reaction. We've simply grew that custom to his ways? We've had our problems in the past and been through whole 'Clubs best player moving to bigger and better things' but this is madness.
Im quite concerned that some of these French lads wont be up to scratch and well be stuck with a group of xiscos
Case > Point With the main work force/backbone of the team now gone (Enrique, Carroll, Nolan, Barton TBC). I'm worried that these new French players won't quite understand the importance of games like the Tyne & Wear derby. Few stand out games from last season where players who are now sold (or there about's) played an instrumental part in: Aug Villa: 6-0 (Barton, Nolan Carroll, Enrique) Oct Scum: 5-1 (Barton, Nolan, Carroll, Enrique) Dec L'Pool: 3-0 (Barton, Nolan, Carroll, Enrique) Jan W'Ham: 5-0 (Nolan) Jan Scum: 1-1 (Nolan) Feb Arsenal: 4-4 (Barton, Enrique) Where's the goals going to come from, the team spirit, the fight? Frightening times ahead
Whilst I agree with all your concerns as we are stepping into the great unknown, you have to remember that Enrique wouldnt even talk about a new contract - his chances of playing for his country were limited with NUFC. Nolan wanted a long contract and more money - moving him on made sense. Carroll went for stupid money and is yet to prove his worth. Barton is a fucking nutter, don't be fooled by his bollocks - have you noticed his agent who had the easiest job in the world is yet to get any offers, thats because he is actually a total spaz. I think the players we have bought are most definitely risky, but it could come off. We might actually have a side of team players instead of egos for a change. Reducing the wage bill and employing young relatively unknown players makes good business sense and with a bit of luck it will also be exciting to watch. I could not take watching another greedy fucker like Owen signing for the club and taking the piss week in week out
