I am thinking about a ipad, i will mainly be using it for reading papers, books and surfing. Iv read the new one is faster, made of plastic to reduce weight and has two cameras. I dont care about cameras and dont really mind if mine is bulkier as its probs better build quality if it is metal lf u ask me. This is pointing me towards going for a first generation model as i rekon they will be £200 in a fortnight. Whats the boards verdict
When the original iPhones are still 200 quid I doubt the iPad will drop that much. I would suggest looking at something else like the notion ink adam or something better than an Ipad unless you want a fashion gimmick which does no more than an iphone
ipad 16gb is £299 already it will defo get down to £230 ish I like the galaxy tab but that also is over priced
I have a 32 gig wifi version and absolutely love it. Use it all the time at work for surfing and for itunes. I really like the new one, and its great that it will retail for the same amount - BUT, theres nothing to make me want to upgrade my old one since speed and thickness don't mean squat when all you do is surf and use the web browser. A bit quicker but that's about it. Plus, the moment its inside a protective case (mine has been in a leather wallet from day one) the fact its half a centimetre thinner or thicker is just lost. If you can get an 'old' one for a good price. Do it i reckon.
£200 in a fortnight? Fuck off man! I have an iPad1 and totally love it, Im never far away from it, it has everything on it, ideal being able to read the latest times without even having to leave your bed on a Saturday morning! Its great for Uni work too, I much prefer numbers to excel . I am thinking of selling mine though and upgrading to the 2, just because I want a pink one when it comes out
like i said they are £299 now, when the new ones flying out is it so crazy to think it might drop 99 quid?
They'll do what they did with the iPod Touch and all App's, in time, will require newer versions of the iPad OS that probably won't be available on the first gen/earlier versions. Apple get you every way they can.
Well if you arent fussed on the new additions for the iPad 2 I would pay less and go for the 1? If you are just reading books, surfing and reading papers I personally would just go for the 1 and save yourself £200. The kindle app is perfect for books and the Times app is mint
I wasnt demanding I was just asking for proof? If they drop donw to that I will buy another for the kid!!!
haha you're looking at them for pricing? Almost no reviews anywhere, also check http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/974210-any-one-used-awoozacom-uk-before/ but each to their own . also 330 quid for the very very basic one not something i'd really be considering.
I havent really used my ipad a huge amount mainly for the following reasons, laptop is still better for web, its a bit of a fucking on synching photos and and music, doesnt have camera for calling home, and as much as i love the music apps, like electrify etc etc. I cant work out how to use them But the new one solves a couple of those issues, and i can sell my old one and upgrade for around 60 quid. So gonna get a friend to pick one up for me in New York this week. But in answer to the question, ipad 2 all the way.
Just a bit of (hopefully) informative opinion towards the topic fella. ps. ive thought the same thing about you on this board, on several occasions. More 'bell end' than 'twat' though if im being honest
