    Just a question on why players retire, the way I see it with snooker the likes of steve davis, john virgo and willy thorn should be amazing
    I mean its not football where ure fitness let's you down in the game. I'm sure the more years you play you get better
    And going by that the winners should be old people who have been playing the game all there life

    Know what u mean Jimi but mental health comes into play too. Although not normally noticeable, in a game like snooker the difference between a win can be something minor. Suspect it would be difficult for older players to maintain the same kind of motivation as the younger players, in terms of putting in the hours, will to win and be the best, etc. plus am sure the hands will be that littke bit more shaky.
