I was there, this was without doubt my greatest ever night out. Utter bliss. I always chuckle at the memory someone called Tiesto was playing LAST in a tiny tent that held about 500 ppl. I said who the fucks this and left early to sleep in the car This oaky set won set of the year btw
My best ever clubbing night out ever also. The whole event, even with the at times torrential rain, was unreal. The only complaint I remember from the night from the night was the sound being dropped for the Tall Paul B2B Seb Fontaine last set of the night.
ever time i drive past the road sign i think of the football the next day in the car park. id never seen girls in bikinis and high heels before
After getting my lips well and truly blown off last week at glade seeing Man With No Name play 'this' kind of trance music (more spacey, less emo vocals) i hope this stuff gets more popular again!
Mate, he was absolutely brilliant. Obviously i was well and truly off my nut, but i kept going on and on about how good he was. Mostly kind of that Oakenfold type trance, but very driving, and with alot of psy type stuff in it, but with the modern production bringing it all up to date. Very driving 'big' sounding trance music - No Orange Theme unfortunately, but he did play Teleport as his last track. Look on my youtube page (markbridgett) for a nine minute long video i took of his set. The guy that owns Funktion One was there the whole weekend tuning the system up, so anything sounded incredible. The act of the night for me, was Prometheus - Same driving trance type sound, but with alot of psy influence, which was quite alot different to the more full on regular psy stuff. Getting back on topic it felt very much like what was ace about Paul Oakenfold back when he was untouchable in the emerging trance scene. ... made the common obsession with Emo trance lyrics, silly break downs, girls who dress up like its a night at a strip club and cocks pulling hand signs look utterly laughable.
See what you mean about the psy-trance element - looks like would have been top night. His remixes/productions were always my favourite back in the day
Downloaded this set its incredible and at the same time makes me annoyed that most of whats about at the minute is so dire.
I same happened to me mate - did a search in Isohunt for it. Lots of crowd noise which I'm not a fan of though - unsure whether this is on the soundcloud mix
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QWO743E6 - new link for those after a download, i think the only version is live though
