lots for all questions, nah probs looking about £800-£1k for bike (depending on sponsorship $$ etc.) speed, no limit, and as for scaring myself, the greater the sphincter flutter, both in terms of number and diameter, the better
sponsorship? cunt! With a grand, youy should be able to amke your sphincter go into spasms. Do you know what your looking for?
even more of a cunt, cos im gonna take the sponsorship, and not come back to work for this company free bike sort of, they ll claw the $$ back after i graduate, but so what, its all about options... not sure what make to go for, been a while since i was big into bikes, but something like a marin, orange, cannondale, klein, specialized, santa cruz would do nicely... hopefully xt all over, gonna keep my marin i got now (old and battered) as a run around, and get a new one for the trails!
won't go wrong there. My Orange is by a long way the best bike i've ever rode. Only really cost £850, but first time out cost another £120. Love it
sweet, i feel a few mtbing trips comin on when i get my ass back up north hopefully will beable to take car up as well, and can fit two bikes in there...
for that sort of price i would go for a pro-flex animal team, it the absolut daddys of a bike, i dont kno the specs off hand but its kinda wot ur looking for, espech if ur wanting to do downhill!!! if u look in the back of summink like mbuk u should b able to get one for bout £1k second hand!!
stand on one pedals with the ball of your foot. With your leg staight, your ass should be on the pedal. The frame should be high enough so about 10" of seat post is showing, and long enough so you aren't hunched up. Frame sizes don't mean much cos tha angles vary so much. Are you gonna do cross-country or just down-hill? The bikes are very differerent, and thou you can go downhill on a x-counrty bike, you can't do vice versa
you need a good x-country bike, slightly smaller frame so you can get the seat down, and full-suss. £1k sould get you a beast
cheers ade, any models u think i should consider? want to go for something prety recent, say post '99... Full sus bikes normally only come in small med and large dont they?
usually go up by inches. Marin, Orange, GT Trek, Scott... Anythin that price will be a good serious bike, just depends what you like from there
I seem to be tring to sell a lot of gear on this message board. but hell, like i care santa cruz Super 8. blacck 2002 marzocchi shivers mavic D321 whells (hope hubs) full XT groupset Hope enduro 4 brakes all azonic bar stem etc MINT condition, only been ridden for a few hours in a whole year. £2k would be the asking price. photos available on request
trials is the only form respectable mountain biking - the rest takes far too much effort its all good and well saying you just race downhill - but you still hvae to ride up them and as this aint the alps - theres no ski lifts to taake you to the top. doggie thought you were already an avid cyclist? I have a very dated girsley frame xt groupset, rockshox dh's, 121 rims.
Wouldnt ever say avid, used to do loads when i was 15-18, then sorta stopped when i went to newcastle, which is daft cos the lakes n kielder are on the doorstep... was workin at weekends which didnt help, but figure as i wont be workin at weekends when im back, i may as well get a new bike (my marin is on verge of crumbling to peices), which i ll cane
Pike! This bike is a claud Butler, decent enough seat is fucked but can be fixed new chain needed!! urs for £20.00
