    aye the bham side of wolves is a total dump (sandwell :D) and telford is atrocious... solihull? :confused: expensive area! fortunatley i escaped at an earlyish age to avoid the skanky remedial accent... yam yam yam bostin oooroit yam this yam that yam motha :oops:

    I spent my weekends in B'ham&Coventry all last year. I didn't even realise they were part of it until a few months back. All they've done is the Bull Ring. (Well, thats all I could see. I've not research). Even that has taken about 5 fuckin years to build. Selly Oak wasn't too bad. Thats where the uni is.

    I think the people of Newcastle & Gateshead want it more. We're all proud of where we're from & love to see it succeed. It would be nice to see a few job centres close!

    Culture bid winner revealed on live TV

    NewcastleGateshead will hear if it has taken the European Capital of Culture 2008 title live on breakfast television on June 4.

    Tessa Jowell, Secretary of State for the Department of Media Culture and Sport is expected to announce the winning city from the six-strong shortlist, live on the BBC's Breakfast Show between 8am and 9am on Wednesday, June 4.

    Winning the title could create an estimated 24,000 regional jobs and boost the local economy by around £1.2bn.
