i used to cry as a kid when i watched the t.v. show, he'd always have no friends at the end and he'd be walking away into the distance... then that sad music would play as the credits started... dun dun dun-dun... i'd blub mi eyes out and say "mum - where's he going? i'll be his friend"

... ahh i'm welling up now......

ok well I'll tell you the reason you are wrong and you would know it if you had seen the movie before sharing half a perspective. When you watch the film you will see that a lot of thought and depth has been put into every aspect of the film making sure it caters for the older geeky comic book guys perhaps to much which makes it floored as far as Hollywood goes.

Undermines your point but of course you don’t know this because you haven’t seen the film!!!:)

Whoo, sounds like someone must be wearing a ‘I love the Hulk’ T-shirt; I never once said I doubted the Hulk lacked depth or was thoughtless. You are completely missing the point of my posts and going off at quite irrelevant tangents in defense of the movie. Reread my previous posts and try not to jump in half cocked saying you have a reason why I am 'wrong'

Chill out Nik, it’s only a film, or did you forget that?

True, but isn't that the challenge of any filmmaker...to get the audience to suspend their disbelief for a couple of hours and enjoy the film? I don't think this is any more or less tha case for adults or children (of course it's easier with children). The best filmmakers make movies which work for a wider audience - kids and adults can enjoy and relate to just as much. Spielberg is a master at this! :king:

Hulk is a visual feast that packs a surprising emotional punch.
From the opening credits the audience is immediately immersed in the comic-book essence of the subject matter. This fabulous assault on the senses is indicative of the sustained presence of wondefully intricate 3-D, scientific diagrams that are launched all over the screen, throughout the film. Lee's construction mixes these with split-screens and comic-page style blending. All of the above combine to produce a breath-taking, hugely exciting visual experience.

The direction by Ang Lee is also superb. Once again proving himself to be a master of characterisation, Lee draws from the rich Marvel Universe a huge array of emotions and connections. The tender, tentative relationship between Betty and Bruce never once feels forced, nor do those father and child links between both Banners and Betty and General Ross. All are compelling in their own way.

Lee has also drawn a fantastic range of acting from his leads. Eric Bana personifies completely the intelligence and vulnerability of Bruce Banner; a man torn up by a traumatic past of repressed feelings and memories, whose confusion is heightened upon his sudden and violent transformation.
The beautiful Jennifer Connelly plays her role way beyond standard blockbuster female casting. Connelly brings an innate grace and wisdom to every scene, her quiet manner and ability to effortlessly convey feelings is hugely impressive.
Nick Nolte's work is, as ever, sound. His haggard speech and inner-conflicts show in his stooped posture, yet Banner's own pyschotic desires for omnipotence are clear underneath the superficial exterior. Finally Sam Elliot once again proves himself to be one of Holywood's premier supporting names. The fact that every character he plays is similar has little bearing, so watchable is his portrayal of it.

Although the ending was not up to the standard already set - why in the complete darkness... all n all, sophisticated blockbuster entertainment. Enjoy peeps :D

well, as previously stated - i reet liked it. the 'comic book page' style filming very effective for showing different parts of the story as it went along. Definately better than other recent comic-to-screen movies... i.e. Dare Devil. Too many films now are using the matrix style fighting while on cables.

good point I think most films are made to cater for both irrespective of what they are(i.e. including Disney ect)!!!

nope I think you are missing the point I'm not defending the film in any way shape or form. If you didn’t like it fair enough just form my perspective don’t think people appreciated it for what it was.

and i have never loved the hulk the x-men are far better another thing that your wrong about mate;)

but keep rolling them out its getting funny :D

Nik, I think you need to give your head a shake and have an early night. So you never defended it eh? Quite a ‘funny’ reply from some one who makes statements like:

er sorry mate that’s not defending it that is just saying that’s why people might not have liked it, and if they didn’t fair enough their loss. Just let me know if you want me to explain that in more depth as you are clearly having problems understanding

mmm maybe you should take your own advice and re-reading your own posts, but I'll give you a hand this is why:

sorry to make you sound foolish but you said this which has nothing to do with the films commerce it is directly related to watching the movie:lol::

anyway mate it may be best if you have an early night and maybe work out how to make quotes in the forum something obviously more suited to your intellect

    Lessons...

No, in future I'll try to use your witty dialogue when I’m out and about.

Damn, you must have real issues with the Hulk.

Did a big man in a green suit frighten you as a child?

I’m impressed with your determination to keep at it though, your point was…

Oh, I was lost in all the irrelevant waffle you posted previously.

    *slips into Wolverine suit*
