Turntable speed I have been practicing a style like Yojis where I speed up my records faster than normal. However, Yoji needs his decks sped up and I cant, how can I? Would decks with the 78bpm option work? Also, when I am matching a record and its not fast enough to match on 33, I notch it to 45 but put it on the slowest of 45 and yet its too fast...how is this, is there a gap that is missed in pitch wen changing from 33 to 45? Please help if anyone is not lost by my explanation thanks.
Re: Turntable speed depends what decks u got i think. the pitch adjustment on technics wasn't designed originally to cover all speeds between 33-45...only within a certain range either side... although Vestax and a few others allow for greater manipulation of the pitch... whether even these cover that grey area, i dunno...
heres a guide for technics.. http://music.hyperreal.org/dj/pitch_slider/ fyi... playing those records faster does not make them sound any better..
I agree with Crasherkid play records at the right speed, nobody wants to here Britney Spears chipmunked at plus 25..
some sound better at about +2 to +4 tho... like that sunset one... sounds shite when jules plays it, way too slow... after about +5/6 it all sounds wank tho, unless u've got one of them vinyl touch things, you can make records sound well freaky wi them!
i try not to go above 4 or 5 % whgen mixing a tune. although i did quite alot woth my new CD, cos all the songs were about 12 mins long
confused....... Track length has nothing to do with pitch (i think i might be reading into this 2 much)!
because most the tunes he played on his new mix cd were so long he played at a faster pitch to get em all on the cd. i think thats what he means.
i'm sure i read about some new dex that have seperate pitch an speed faders? or is that jus me being fukked again?
What wud that mean if they had seperate speed and pitch faders? Where did u hear this and what dex? Wouldnt there have to be 100% pitch on the decks to cover that grey area? Does anyone know of any decks that do? If not, is there another way round this?
no just speeds the music up a bit not the beats u'd be best of with vestax if u wanna do that or the newest numark ones!
