I can understand that... that's why he was range-limited to whatever is was, not far enough to hit Israel anyway.

It wasn't portrayed as this during the build up to the war though.... then it was that Saddam had WMD he could deploy in 45 minutes against the UK!!

Was that actually said?? Did they say that WMD could be launched on London within 45 minutes??

I think it was just that WMD could be launched in 45mins...think it was the media that misled to create a bigger story in sayin that the UK could be hit.

If that was the case then it didnt half work.

It's generally accepted that if we had done nothing Sadam would have started his WMD programe up again (if not already started) and in time, no doubt launched one at Israil etc.

Does it really matter that the Gov did not do everything by the book in starting the war in order to stop this from occurring??

I'd almost agree with that Mark. Put a petition in front of me saying that the UN, with consensus, can go into a country and remove brutal dictators and I'd sign it


But if this the case why was it Saddam we picked on, and why now, and not the other brutal dictators round the world. Like I said earlier we didn't mind him being a brutal dictator in the 80's did we?

'what's done is done' now, and regardless of how it was done Iraq needs to be allowed to rebuild itself, with the aid of the west not on the conditions of the west.

the current U.S. goverment is no less corrupt now than it was under Reagan, it is a shambles, with possibly one of the worse foreign affairs policies ever to be seen.

absoloute and total sense, my only real problem with the left is that they seem to lack firmness and resoloution, while good at picking holes, they seldom come up with solutions that tackle the problems we face sufficiently.

it vexes me when the left appears to have a 'scheme for everything' attitude... sometimes you have to scrap the pussyfooting and DO SOMETHING.

Exactly! i have the same problem with the left. I think Blair has done a good job, he is firm and stood up for what he thought was right.

everyone has their own views and it is impossible not to be swayed by the facts given to us by a variety of people, but as these people hold different views like the governments, media, or writers like michael moore, then they are all going to put their own slant on things, and change our views from the actual truth which very few people actually know!

you can argue all night about left or right, but neither will ever be 100% pefect really because of the way the world is to start with!!
