Shyness/self confidence

Im really really shy and it does my fooking head in. :evil: I dont plan on changing myself tho. Jus take the "who gives a fuck" attitude Flash ur ass!

No harm in bein shy, better than bein overconfident IMO.

Im pretty shy, n quiet, once i get to know folks im fine. When im out, n have a few drinks on board i dont care, just have a gud time, n speak to ne1.

Hate goin red faced tho, bloody happens all the time, can feel my face goin red for no reason, but cant control it, does me head in.

i reckon its not really about having the confidence to go and talk to a random stranger, just about the confidence in yourself to tell someone to fuck themselves if they are unreasonably wankerish to you, instead of taking things personally.

I find it harder to tell someone to fuck themselves harder then to walk up to a compleate stranger, i talk to randoms all the time in clubs etc

i can in clubs but find it hard to in everyday life ie. at work ect. normally need someone to start conversations with me first, and a sort of shared interest to make conversation about.

i didnt mean to actually tell someone to fuck themselves, thats just nasty but just not to let people get you down, i found out some of my mates who ive grown up with have thought im gay for few months now til one of them asked me at the weekend, and i was totally gutted they felt they couldnt ask me and that they genuinely thought it, but at the end of the day its their opinion and im not gonna let it get me down, the twats can think what they want

im massively shy in certain situations. i just try to put a face on... i wouldnt imagine i come across as shy as i am, but on the flipside, i have moments where im the opposite. i try to be as calm as possible, but if im pushed too far i have no problems telling people to fuck right off (cos im also a ill tempered bastard at heart )

The worst thing about being shy for me is the frustration it causes. I'm not as half as bad as i used to be, but sometimes i still find myself drying up in unfamiliar situations or surroundings, such as meeting your mate's workmates. Then if i did speak, i'd immediately feel my face burning, and thinking 'god, these people look really bored with what i have to say'

It's shit like that you need to overcome. It may take time, but once you’re past it and look back you think, 'what was the fuss about it?'

Be relaxed, happy and be yourself. It's the best way to be confident.

Sometimes a more confident front is required in awkward situations (eg just slept with your sister or summinck), but never go over the top. ie 'don't be like Mike'

I used to be quite shy until I left school about 5 years ago but I opened up when I started college and met my real mates I dont speake to many peeps I went to school with.

So you should be to open up infornt of your real mates IMO.

just go out adn get drunk that normally brings out the shyness in peeps!

i must have the opposite problem then.....i cant stop speaking to randoms - old ladies on the metro - people in my smoking hut at work - people in the college canteen - people in bars - people out clubbing - people in taxi q's - people in shops etc.

its quite funny, like most of you say you would rather people start conversations with you than start it yourself - as bob as my witness - i am that fool! when you talk to everyone, you quickly find that they are just "normal" people like yourself, ambling through the day.

im sure im going to end up a mad old lady with lots of cats who shops at netto's but is secretly rich.

sorry i have no advice for you there lee! i reckon just dont give a shit about what people think - because other people arent normal lol
