    EU migrants face benefits curbs

Migrants from nations joining the EU in May will have to "work or leave the UK", Tony Blair has insisted.

People from the new member states would not need work permits but would need to be on a worker registration scheme, Mr Blunkett said in a Commons statement.

Mr Blair told a BBC radio phone-in that residents of the eight ex-East European communist countries would only be able to stay if they had jobs: "If they can't support themselves, they will be put out of the country."

"People who come here from accession countries but do not work will not be able to claim benefits."

Totally agree with this, if people are not contributing to our society they should leave.

I only wish we would extend this to all the dole rats that are from the uk as well as those that arn't.

 That would be amazing!! "Oi you lot without a job, we're deporting you to Slovakia. We're giving Mr and Mrs Ylaskinjenka from the Czech Republic your council house because they both work in a factory down the road. Bye"

:D That would be a great idea! And I agree with what they're doing. I'm all for immigrants I hate the people who are completely against them ("racists") but this is a good idea, people now have less to complain about!

Good work Mr Blair. (And you don't hear that often! )

It's the same for us when we go to the States, Australia, Canada etc but more severe.

If your English and your family tree has contributed to paying tax's & shaping this grreat country of ours then you have the right to be on the dole where as these foreign parasites have no right to be supported by the country.

    Not since 9/11

Everything has got 20 times harder. The employer has to proove that nobody in america could do the job.

You have to be practically a specialist in your field OR invest 200,000 in a business (at least)

If you have links with a company over there already you might get a temporary permit but you certainly couldnt just go into america for more than 3/6 months and expect to live there not working. I'm having a baby there and being supported financially by an american resident but they still won't let me stay....baby can stay but mother has to fly home every 3 months to dodge visa waiver crap lol

I cant even apply to go in the green card lottery anymore cause theyve taken united kingdom off it! All the people they are at loggerheads with are still allowed to apply....go figure
