My car needs new brake pads so I call my local Fiat car dealer asking how much it will cost

quoted £97.40 fitted

bit much for brake pads, so I call my local ATS £37.00

Thought I had called a Porche dealership in error

never use the dealer for easy job's like that

main dealers rip you off for everything

I scratched the roof of my brother's housemate's car the other week, so offered to pay for the repair. Nearly shat myself when he got a quote of £375 from the for dealership. Went elsewhere in the end and got it done for £110.

Do them yourself, even cheaper again

Charlie browns was gonna charge my dad £330 to sort stuff for the MOT, got the local mobile mechanic out, he changed the pads for £40 and the car sailed through its MOT

find a decent local mechanic who runs his own garage. Will do a better job at half the price. I never use main dealers

reminds me of Kwik Save. If the staff are anything like they are in Kwik Save then your car would end up a wreck when it comes out cos they'd all be idiots!

had a misfire on my bmw
main dealer charged me £95 and it was only a spark plug
would have done it myself but i had recently changed them all
would have cost me £12 and 10 mins time if i done it myself

they are good motors too
anything german and you cant go wrong
except for the 323 beemer it has a alloy engine and the heat warps the cylinder linings
