 I thought about that, but from people at work who've been looking for other jobs, working at Morrisons is something that you'd rather NOT tell future employers!

He already knows!! I told him late last year and he says he doesn't blame me! He's even letting me write my own reference for him to sign.:D Not looking forward to writing it tho, i don't want to make myself seem too big headed (i'm not one for 'bigging up' myself)

I've worked for them for 3 years and NO-ONE in Personnel knows my name. They're fucking useless, if another employer wrote to them they'd think "Kevin Dobson? Who's he? They must have their information wrong!"

Though, when I go to America I will have to be quite nice, I've got a few days of holiday pay they have to pay me but they can withhold (sp?) up to 5 days of it if they want to

Still, letter=nice, attitude to manager and other general people = NOT NICE :D

That would be soooo satisfying, but he's been a good boss over the past seven years. Apart from his salary scheme:lol:

Yeah it's double, but they also put the prices up in the Staff canteen, where it used to be 45p for a large cup of cola, guess what it is now? Yep...47p. Bastards.

And @Ruth, I'll look into getting that reference, but Personnel are shit. I asked them to order me some steel-capped boots in the 2nd week of January. As yet I still haven't got them, and have asked them 3 times since, each time they gave me some shit excuse and said they'd re-order them.

    Roll on May... :)

dobbs - dont be stupid when you leave - tell them you're off now + you will probs get a glowing reference, from personal experience people look up at this kind of thing and will probably wish you well in america...

just because it might appear your managers don't pay you any attention, you can bet they are more aware than you think - its their job to watch staff + you will have an employee file - i saw mine at boots when i worked there + i couldnt believe some of the stuff that was on it...

never burn your bridges when you leave a job cos no matter how trivial a job it is you'll be surprised how useful a good reference is... :)

how did the interview in durham go btw? :D

Well no I'm not planning to "be stupid" but I am going to let certain people know what I think of them. Most people there are canny and in all honesty I'll miss them, but it's just the one or two people who are ****s.

Not necessarily thinking of going up to them and saying "By the way, you're a ****" but more like not letting them push me around in the last couple of weeks, and instead standing up for myself and telling them where to go if they give me any shit.

The interview went great  With my Duke of Edinburgh experience plus having taught PE for a couple of years he said that I'm pretty much guaranteed to get a place, and he's going to recommend I become a "Specialist Counsellor" in hiking/camping/mountain biking and that sort of stuff. Sent my specialist forms off last Wednesday, waiting for a confirmation of place now *fingers crossed* :)
