    shindig last night part deux

ok I've read some of your less then positive comments about the night, but I'm writing an article about this for Mixmag and I would really prefer to have a happier slant on things as I actually had a good laff!!

    any comments below please -

ps big thanks to the Shindig lot for looking after me and to Si, Lucy, BOB, Ness etc for providing me and Granpda Lee with some clubbing compadres..also to young Mr Spunkton for taking us to a rather fine after party, until I had one vodka too many and 'game overed'

thumbs down to Wot for having the cheek to finish his 12hour shift @ 11 when we wanted a taxi home @ 1:30am. Lazy b'stard. You'll be pleased to hear I walked home and have blisters, not very Royal.

i get the impression not everyone had the same laff, becuase not everyone received the "royal" treatment you did..
if you were reviewing it you were never going to have a bad night were you :p

to be honest mate I spent half an hour back stage with the photgrapher and the rest on the dance floor and in the power house with Si, Lucy etc

You can't write a decent review if you only see behind the scenes, you're writing for the people on the dance floor

I really enjoyed myself dunno why everyones whinging, fair enough it was a bit pricey but who gives a fuck it was a good night out in my opinion. The drinks were well expensive as well but that wasnt shindigs doing it was the bars.

You'll always get some people complaining no matter what, at the end of the day i dont see anyone else in newcastle doing or even trying to do anything like what shindig have done with their parties at the baltic and times square.

Not really a good idea for a Princess to get in to a Mercedes with a tired driver

For the outside part the Baltic was a better venue but I definetly preferred having the club attached for other types of music. A couple more hours would have been better to have more of a lookaround. Good night though esp the main room in the Powerhouse

That's fair enough but I doubt it cost you the same amount of money it did all the folk on the dancefloor.

£60 in for two of us, £3.80 for a mini beer, midnight finish ... poor show !!

You have two options WRITE the TRUTH or choose to put a happy slant on it and protect your guest list etc !! I know what I would choose ;)

Chris UK - unfortunately Mixmag don't issue discount cards so I'm afraid the drink cost me just the same as you guys. Yes, I did get guestlist, which is common policy if you're writing a article on somewhere. As many mags don't pay their contributors or employ a lot of freelance/part-time staff then they can't expect them to pay to get into the places they review.

and I was up til 2:30am writing the bluddy article before starting full time work @ 8am. Curse this working for a living lark!

always a pleasure never a chore melt.

i think Phil wants us all to go out for a drink on Sat afternoon so we can catch up..if you're allowed out that is..

he offended me big time last night so I'm undecided (see your thread in what's on for further info)
