Nick Drake Lost Boy: In search of Nick Drake Anyone else listen to this show on Radio 2 on Saturday? Brad Pitt presented it - turns out Nick Drake is one of his favourite artists. Anyway, basically, Nick Drake is a genius and probably my favourite artist. It is only now, 30 years after his death that he is getting the recognition he deserves. His lyrics and music have helped a lot of people, including me, and I highly highly recommend his music. I sumbled on his music five years ago when there was a documentry about him late one night on BBC 2. He is the most talented acoustic guitar player I've heard. Enough of the praise! :worship: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/documentaries/nickdrake/
Duran Duran, REM, The Cure, Paul Weller, Badly Drawn Boy, Ocean Colour Scene, Blur all cite Drake as a huge influence.
Re: Nick Drake i was just listening to river man... he was good but i think hes got the same 'jeff buckley' posthumous hype... OCS are shit.
the hype is more justified in Drake's case, really don't get the whole Buckley thing. Five Leaves Left is a great album, a fine artist indeed. oh and yes, OCS are derivative toss
