Hardhouse seems to go through stages, for a small time every year it gets popular because of a few fresh sounding productions, then once every other producers has copied the original ideas people realise that it all sounds the same.

Spence why you reopening this old chestnut. Its labelling that is killing the genre.

From a certain point of view Cause and Effect that used to run at the arts centre could be loosley associated with Hard house / energy music and 2 years ago was the biggest thing to threaten the likes of nice etc...on a Saturday night regularly bringing in 300 punters and turning away 200

if the Arts Centre and Uni hadnt messed up booking the venue they would be huge now

Also you cant tell me that Kerry's night licked aint a hard house night and that will probably get a mint turnout even though its a thursday as Baby doc and SJ are class. So there is the demand just not the venues or the open minded venue owners prepared to persevere with it and also not the feeder towns to feed in people from other areas.

Melt - Did you DJ @ a C & E event @ Satellite? The lad from Housewife choice was playing the same night

There have been zillions of HH nights that have failed for 1 reason or the other. I hope Jamesy night bucks the trend

WHERES THAT NIGHT GOING DOWN? and i will tell you whether it will work or not. Its not melt its andy

Melt dj'd at the FEB 2002 Cause and Effect when HAVOK came up he was dropping old skool in the backroom.

I dj'd at a the resdients Cause and Effect (last Arts gig) in 2002/2003 and I did the uni 1 which packedd in 700 in may 2002

The housewifes one had Phil Cogan and Michael Varty b2b and
Pete Wallis and Jonathan Miles with the housewife boys.

I thought it was excellent personally.

The problem with hh is they attract true hedonists and generally hedonism does not mix with school nights (mon - thurs)

Thats why we throw all the styles into the melting part at detox and just see what comes out the other side.

We got PURE FILTH (who are gonna be bigger than parlez vous and housewifes) coming up from Manchester in mid Aug

Jimmy was right b4 when he said every year HH gets a pasting then comes back . Personally we wished we lived in Nottingham or Leeds where HH is properly catered for.

    Looking forward to Licked though
