i like the big clubbing nights, the spectacular sound systems and light shows... i just don't like the stupidly high prices we've had to pay in the past few years. £15 for entrance to a night club is bad THEN sky high booze prices once u get in. is it the top name DJs or the Promoters at fault - probably a vicious circle that feeds itself....

i like going somewhere and knowing loads of people - its your own little community into the same music with (mostly) lots of the same interests - yet its not limited to only your mates and your mate's mates, as most house parties turn out to be.

i was being broad in my statement - i didn't mean 1 particular club or bar

I am always working the circuit once I am in the club. I meet zillions of new people on a night out & more people know me than I know

I would like to think I know most people on here but that is because I have been on here for a few years now & I ALWAYS try to talk to everyone when out & I see them or at least give them a nod or wink if I am on the move.

that a good thing about some of the smaller nights...

they either don't have a drinks lisence or don't want the hassle of the bar so let you bring your own...

good if you fancy a cheap night out

Fair play but everyone starts somewhere . I don't think almouth beach was a glorified house party and that was run on the same lines and i met loads of new poeple there.

If big clubs do falter thats what it will go back to.

Most dj's started playing at mates nights thats how you get your first break, i.e. Sasha, the lads who played insomainics in sheffield etc.

Its this unglamerous (shit spelling sorry) stuff at grass routes level that lays the foundation and keeps the club scene going. imo

True, but why I should I go & watch some wannabe in some pit hole? I owe him & his cronnie's nowt & for a few quid I can go listen to the pro's.

I have always found punters @ small underground nights to be the most elitist clubbers in clubland, they talk to much about what they are doing for the SCENE & think they should be knighted for going to Mickey's: PLASMA NIGHT @ THE ALL NU-DOG & RAT PUB ON A WET RAINY NIGHT IN MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair play spence its up to you.
    Each to there own.

Theres no way that a smaller nights can compete in terms of production with big nights.

I have found the opposite of this to be true.

To me its about having laugh putting on partys and supporting music that your into. If a want elitism i will grow a mullet wear a tight t-shirt light blue ripped jeans go to the apartment and take coke and listern to whats ever i am tolds cool this week.

Actually that was quite elitist, you may have a point.

Is James 909 really melt today?

James looks like you been taking lessons from the meltster

That description you painted of a promoter sounds like someone familiar!!!????

I bet this post gets deleted

Spence should get himself down to influence and resistance and vibration

I was sceptical when told about these gigs but they are class and they aint manned by wannabee dj's . Some of the technical ability
on display is class, better than a lot of established djs on the scene.

its like buying a pair of jeans, if you got a 5 quid pair of geordie jeans sitting next to pair of zillion quid armani ones in a shop you will think the armani ones are better cos you paying more for them . Me I'd rather wear geordie jeans , period

    its official SPENCE LOVES SUPERCLUBS

PS: Spence when is the fat lad gonna give us a funky old skool cd so we can put him on at detox early next year. I dont think he a gonna get his big break at twisted this year.

I am very anti-arena gigs but these events can turn people into entry level clubbers, just like Judge Jules does. Also when I was @ Crasher in London there was vibe in that place like no other maybe it was because about 60 to 70% of the crowd were non-british clubbers. GET YOURSELF TO A CRASHER EVENT IN LONDON & THEN TELL ME ALL BIG CLUBS ARE POOP.

FATLAD has just got back from Ibiza on Saturday & I havent seen him,I will get on the case.

I dont doubt it spence. Now what you doing telling all the kids on here about how good crasher london is. You dont want them all to start likeing crasher again now that you made it trendy spence As far as they are concerned crasher is dead. Tiesto told them so
    so it must be true

IMO the reason the thread might get deleted is certain promoters with mullets who are partial to bentinis and kwak candles (anyone who watches brass eye will get this ) night think you are referring to them...ahem

Good point but I think Crasher London is better than Crasher @ Gatecrasher 1. The mix of people of people @ that event was unreal & was great to see. TIESTO

Wouldn't say punters but a lot of the people who run and are associated with small underground nights are.

I hate when they make out that by not being "mainstream" they're somehow above everyone else. I personally would welcome the masses through our door! :)
