The main reason it went quiet was because the music went stupid hard & loads of people stoped going bar the hardcore ket/ghb munters. I think Melt./Wire will back me up here in saying that when the Rez went Gabbatastic & then tried to slow it down it was to late everyone had fooked off & the same thing happened with Sundiss.

same reason i went off HH, loved it because it was a non serious fun kinda music that you could go out and have a good time too, then all of a sudden it became a race by producers to become the hardest dj possible  i only really love lab-4 from my hard days but thats because they managed to be hard yet fun, the rest just sound like a bucket of nalz falling down a hill :(

I stopped going to Sundis because I was sick it being full of sixteen year olds unable to move due to consumption of stupid amounts of drugs. It's a shame because Sundis was awesome in its heyday, before it got too hard (though v hard at the end was always good).

The last 3-4 posts before this one are all very very true.

Smurf might disagree with me and so will Paul who we do the cne show with but when the rez scene became ridculously gabba tastic it lost its wider appeal to those who liked melodies

Also sundissential started just focussing on hard house.
and it never built it just was nailz as soon as you walked in hence the reason you need stupid amounts of horse tranq. to keep you interested.

One point tho, it seems to me that a lot of people are very trendy orientated and move on like sheep when other people do.

as has happened with (gate) crasher and sundiss.

It is not fashionable to like them anymore.

Its not the line ups are that different to what madders would have done it he were still at sundiss or scott bond if he were still at crasher.

Another question tho is why should they give up when it is their only income. If it was your source of income would you give it up.

End of the day tho: Madders = sundissential so they should run under a different name and move with the times. Bit like REZ cashing in up in scotland. It will never be THE REZ we all knew and loved.

sundis became shit when all the fuckers who used to bounce around in fur swapped it for ripped up denim. then they all somehow believed that because they didn't dress like a fucking **** anymore that they all suddenly had become uber cool overnight.

when sunids stopped being about getting fucked on drugs and having fun, and became a who's the fucking coolest contest it very quickly dissapeared up its own arse.

Theres a lot of clubs become a " whos the coolest contest" to be fair.

That is why something like the Glade festival is set to become the biggest thing in this country in the years to come and why Mixmag are now trying to hijack the last bastion of new age hippies - psy trance. The day you see a try hard with a mullet standing next to a new age traveller in either a field / wharehouse etc. its all over.

To qoute that scene in human traffic where they are lamenting Tom Toms club and the good all days "we've lost the whole reason for taking ***tasy in the first place" TO LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR. A lot of people would do well to remember that these days.

I bet a lot of the trendies who slag cyber off now are also probably the ones who were wearing it several years ago.

Spence et al , we should start a nude club then you could leave all your clothes at the door as well.

The moment you start looking back, more than you start looking forward .... is the point when you should stop thrashing your own dead horse opinions on what clubbing and music should or shoudnt be and just move onto something else gracefully.

If you cant embrace the spirit of the times - theres no hope for ya.
