    D V L A

Im in serious trouble, I moved house a while back and aint changed my log book details :( I noticed the other day my car tax ran out last month cos the reminder was sent to my old address. To make matters worse I have lost my log book

I now need a new log book :( to change my address, then cop a massive fine for road tax

This will take upto 4 weeks and I need my car to get to work.

Any ideas what I can do ?

    buy a new car!!

seriously though, try going to see a trader, they have the facility to tax a car without complete documents, the guy we bought my brothers car off did it for £30, well worth it in the long run

Still need the log book though mate. I'm a trader and have this type of thing all the time. Find out where your nearest DVLA office is and go down with your details and they will sort it out for you. You will only need to pay the back tax normally. The new log book will cost you £19 as well.

    For the next 4 weeks:
Ring Blue Line on 0191 2626666 & they will pick you up from home & drop you off at work, then on night ring them & they will pick you up from work & take you home.

I'd be honest and say I'd moved and forgot to change my car details. Its better than appearing as trying to get away without paying. Surely you'll only be liable for back-tax and a new log book:confused:
