i'm with mos on this one... from the title alone i knew this was not going to be one of my favourite films ever, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been... obviously it was a sell-out by the producers etc...and was nothing compared to the originals...but it's better than all the gash films they bring out with people like ben stiller in!
gotta say i wasnt lookin forward to this at all, spesh after the gash of the last two alien films and predator 2 with danny glover........... but i have to say i thought it was absolutely mint. massive i think any1 who is a predator and/or alien fan and is expectin a purely crap film will be pleasantly surprised.
I thought it was alright, it had good action, but I was disappointed with the 'friendly' Predator and how it didn't tie in with the AVP graphic novels/games. But I shan't complain - if I reckon the movie could have been better I should have made it then.
They wern't their bitches :spangled: The story says that they were made for war for the predators to prove themselves worthy as Gods - they created the ultimate prey. Fiar enough if you didn't like it, I can't see how you can say it's awful though, it's very good imo. I am also a fan of the Alien and Predator films, but i didn't go to the cinema after carefully studying the exact charcteristics of both species and then sit there comparing them through the whole film. BLOODY HELL!!!! LOOK AT THAT!!! THE AILIENS TAIL IS 2 INCHES SHORTER THAN IN ALIEN 2 You sound like that star wars geek from the simpsons Each to their own I guess.
Sorry to continue Chris's spoiler, but what's done is done... Watch it again. The film says that they were used as the ultimate prey, not that they were made as such: presumably, they simply captured the queen and used her to breed more aliens. Not that that has any bearing on my post. And yes, a film's lineage does affect the way we view the plot, and inconsistencies do matter, as they contradict the ongoing storyline, and make the film harder to immerse yourself in. Which kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Try watching TTT on its own, without previous knowledge of Tolkien's work, and you will see how shit a film is out of context. Or, as an example of an inconsistency - what if the Orcs suddenly whipped out AKs and slaughtered all at Helm's deep? It really would fuck the film over, and in point of fact has done so here. Harry
