    Sleep

Why is it sometimes when u sleep for quite a while u r still so tired the next day? I think i got to sleep at about half 1 or 2 last night, and woke up at about 10..thats okay though isnt it?

I actually do feel completely shattered 2day for some reason..

Is there anything anybody knows that will help wake me up? Legal substances that is! :p I thought coffee was good until i read the other day that ur better off having an apple in the morning rather than coffee, because apples wake u up more! :spangled: Hmmm..

i got in at 4 last night up at 8.. drinking tea by the gallon... which isnt really helping cos its making me more thirsty :(

i went through a stage of drinking loads of water when i was doing my finals and i felt 10x more awake even though i was getting on average 5 hours sleep a night..

    ive been having similar problems......

    best tips are:

dont drink alcohol at all in the hours before bed

if you're gonna smoke :chill: , do it at least 2-3 hours before bed, so that you're still a tiny bit rubbered when you fall asleep.

    No caffeine, either....

Get plenty of sleep too...... try a minimum of 7 or 8 hours..... any less and you'll feel tired the next day....

Have a shower as soon as you get up...... that wakes you up more than any drink.

Its pretty demanding but you will feel great.

I know exactly what you mean, i set my the timer on my tv to wake me up at 20 past 8 this morning...... and i was so lethargic i only got up at half 9. Its such an annoying feeling tho..... knowing you HAVE to get up but your bed just feels so comfy, warm and inviting ........

I go through phases where I sleep loads or hardly at all.. A few weeks ago I was getting 3-4 hours a night.. This week I've been in bed by 10:30pm most nights and up at 7 the next day and that's sometimes with a lie down earlier in the evening as well!

It all evens out nicely.

I wish i was one of those people who could sleep in the day when they get in..some of my mates go 2 sleep at 4 or 5 and wake up about an hour or 2 later...i just dont get that though...there is no getting me 2 sleep at that time! That cant be good for ur sleeping pattern either...:spangled:

I *think* you can sleep for ages and still feel tired, because if you oversleep you enter another deep sleep cycle. If you are woken from deep sleep, it makes you feel vastly tired.

As for the hangover cure hijack - 2 pints of water, hit the bed, dont move until 12 or 1 the next day and its nps. I have had blackouts, violent sickness, in short been extremely pissed and on the verge of alcoholic poisoning (what we do when we're young, eh :), and via that method have had no ill effects when I wake up.

When i had 2 jobs on the go i was going 2 college 5 days a week n working 6 evenings/days out of 7, n on my night off i was doing some sort of sport. U can imagine how shattered i constantly was :( i started taking pro plus for a while on the days that i was shattered, it works but it takes a long time 2 kick in. I dont wanna really go advising u 2 pop pro plus everyday from now on, its legal but im sure wont b 2 good 4 u. But 4 the sake of needing 2 i took it. I dont anymore but i some times need a kick up the arse especially when im starting new shifts 6 till 11 then 6 till 12 on a fri ! So its a possibility 4 u chick :D xx

lol man, im only 19, its just last year the partying was heavy, and I cant be dealing with that shit now :D

As for the deep sleep cycle..... its true..... during the holidays i'd regularly go to bed at midnight and sleep till 3pm, and feel tired again at about 5pm

The drinking water before bed is good, it works wonders for me, particularly after drinking and smoking, but if u drink too much you need to run to the toilet every other hour
