At the end of the day it comes down to reading the crowd!

Put everything else a side...hes great at mixing, structure, technical ability is sound etc. He can play anything if he/she is a master at reading the crowd majority then they cannot fail ;)

Mark Normans mixing was poor, but it might have been a bad night because i definatly know they wernt that bad at Tiestos album launch.

Which one djs anyway? Mark Lenden or Norman de Jong?

Yeah but he couldn't really read the crowd could he, the crowd at promise always want everything hard, no matter who is on, so dropping a few tech-trance tunes goes down well, then dropping a probspot tune in the middle not only breaks up the structure, but lets the crowd down, as once you've stepped it up, you shouldn't really let it drop.

No they dont! Since when do they want everything hard? thats your opinion mate. Maybe his structure wasnt very good but the tunes he played were class, You dont see people complaining about PVD playing loads of his own productions do you? or complaining when others do it or play some quailty old tunes. I for one went there hoping id hear Mark Norman play stuff like rush and overkill and was very happy when i heard the tracks he played.

and as for the hard thing that bollox, if that was the case then they would be wanting a Marco V 5 hour set or Marcel Woods, but they dont they want a Matt Hardwick 5 hour set and Matt never plays hard. Im sure at the end of November there'll be loads of Probspot tunes because hes a quailty Trance producer who producers that i want to hear, therefore not EVERYONE at promise wants to hear everything hard.

I hope matt plays as he normally does and not hard and plays tunes such as blueberry and the probspot remixes of jump the next train and kill for you.

    Rant over.

You mis-understood what i meant by harder!

Richard Tulip always plays a couple of probspot tunes in his set, and they always go down tremendously well when the bassline and kick suddenly come in, this is what always goes down well in Promise, tunes that have a kick to them.

Even when Gabriel and Dresden played, they commented afterwards on how the crowd reacted better to tunes with that tougher edge.

Mark Norman played a good variety of tunes, but in a random order, and why play overkill etc. I too love these tunes, or at least used to when they first came out, why play them now after 1 or 2 years, why not play some new tunes? Maybe drop 1 or 2 Mark Norman tunes but not everyone they have made.

I also cannot wait for the Matt Hardwick solo night, he is playing for 5 hours so I would expect more older tunes here, the other 2 Matt solo nights have been great so I'm sure this one will be too.

I saw the stripey guy jump up and nut the bar before grabbing the deck, his arms were then thrown around his head by the doormen as he was ejected from the club...Loonie!
