djs... was talking with paul about this last night and i can't think of many things i would rather not have than fame...it must be really shit being famous imo! i dj because i enjoy it, and would like to think i'm pretty good so carry on doing it. but i know loads of people do it to try and make it big and there's nothing wrong with that at all!
I was chatting to one of my less musically educated mates a few weeks ago about this. He just couldn't understand why I would want to play records to 'myself.' I likened it to him playing in a Sunday football league where there's no crowd. Its not exactly the same, but its what you enjoy doing with your spare time.
Re: djs... Yeah man, I can't think of anything worse than travelling the world, getting fucked every weekend, having girls throw themselves at you....and getting paid the shit wages all the big name DJ's are on. Must be awful! Shame I can't fekkin mix...
It would have to be if you enjoyed it, I wouldnt like to be famous at all for anything, i like my social life as it is without everyone sticking their nose in. Its like if people say djs just ang out backroom........so would i, if you were tiesto or PVD and went on the dancfloor knock some shapes out gurning like fuck youd have about 45 photos of it in various dj mags by the end of the month
I dont want to become a DJ but if the chance arose cos i was that good then i would take whoevers hand off, at the moment its merely a hobby what i get alot of pleasure out of ! I enjoy playing the music i play, enjoy having a mix with my mates and maybe one day will buy a cd recorder for others to listen to my mixes !
You don't even need a minidisk etc... John. All you need is an aux lead, and run it from the mixer to the back of your tower. Then record it on the "stereo" setting on Soundforge.

i really love doin it, and that's pretty much it, i prefer producing when i'm in the mood tho. however, i love playing my own stuff, dont mind pvd playing it either mind lol id love nothin more than to be famous, but getting my degree is of more importance to me

i do it for the love of doing it! when i first started and played out a few times - i loved it even more cause of the effect i was having on people - i was playing MY tunes that I loved and they were loving it! it gave me a real buzz! but then it changed, it all got so cut throat and serious - everyone and their granny was doing it - i was doing it for fun and thats what pleased me - so i returned to being a bedroom/house party DJ - and will continue to do so, playing to myself cause i'm listening to tunes i like, messing around with them - making my own tunes! not saying i wouldn't like the fame and fortune too like - that would be a bonus!
i just do it for the love of the music i dont care if i play to a room of 1 or 1000(not yet lol) but aslong as one person feels what i was playing then i know its all good still wouldnt mind being numer one djin the world and have loads $$$$ in the bank through it that would just be sick man
I dj coz i enjoy it, its a way of relaxing for me even if i dont have enough time to do it! Fair enough if i have a big gig, then thats a bonus, but im not particulary arsed! just aslong as people enjoy my music!
