    Newcastle Uni

    Does anyone know if Newcastle Uni does a good Music technology degre course of any kind...?

    Cos im meant to be filling my UCAS form in now and i really want to move up there and go to uni there next year.

    Is Newcastle uni good for music courses?

    there isnt a music tech course @ newcastle afaik

    northumbria is what u wanna be lookin at for something like that, but its only an hnd/bnc i think, not bsc/ba but i could be wrong

    In the hope of nobody taking offence...

    What career prospects crom from a Music Tech degree?

    Surely it won't help DJing/Production etc? You can learn it yourself.

    As for Newcastle, they don't seem to offer music tech. I believe Northumbria does though.

    that is pretty much my opinion on things, unless you want to become a sound engineer or something similar where you pretty much need the qualifications.

    a few producers i know have tried these courses and thought they were a bag of wank. armin can't even play the piano notes from communication and look where he is now lol. not that music knowledge has anything to do with tech ability, but you see my point.

    afaik northumbria stopped doing their music tech course. i think newcastle college does some sort of hnd course for it tho

    Listen love you like HH, you no doubt want to make HH you dont need a degree to make that stuff.

    maybe it will look good to back your demos up.

    dont know much about production but surely a course will help your tunes sound more complete,mastering and levels etc

    I have been invited to Newcastle Univ. to represent my work next February to give a talk to the Engineering students on the life of an engineer in the electronics industry.

    They won't have a fucking clue what language I'm speaking :lol:
