How often have Maitland, marco v and lashes really been on in the past year?

Ronald Van Gelderen, adam sheridan and cor finjeman have all been on recently.

    Am I missing something?

Fleming, Tomcraft and Sheridan were all on in one night and hardly anyone was there. Same for Gabriel & Dresden.

It was a joke in the Summer and to be honest, I don't think that Mark has done as bad as I expected with these line ups. At least it won't be the same obvious Trance every month.

Thing is Newcastle doesn't have 1,000+ "educated" and "open minded" clubbers. I think a lot of people forget just how many people Foundation need to get through their doors to stay in business...

Alot of the board do turn up but Promise is in the unfortunate position of being in such a small club and having a small mostly non-board fan base to focus on compared to other cities that it can't afford to drive away punters by booking the best DJ in the North that no one's heard of.

In some clubs it can work, in this one it can't which is a shame but it's no way your fault.

I think that it speaks volumes about Newcastle when Ben Lost, Les Hemstock and Jon O' Bir have all played Newcastle and hardly anyone turned up.

Then Jules or Haliwell are booked at Foundation and every pikey from every slum in the city shows their fucking faces.

I don't get why Lisa Lashes is at all the harder nights Promise ever do these days. She is by far the worst of the big name hard house DJs for tunes, but I wouldn't agree with the earlier comment about her mixing.

If Promise is intent on doing hard nights but the promoters feel unable to pull in crowds big enough for lesser known DJs, why not run those nights at a smaller venue?

Then get the likes of fresh talent such as Daley and some of the DJs from the more southern hard scene like Justin Bourne and Marc Johnson etc. They play at pretty small nights alot of the time so obviously wouldn't cost the same amounts the likes of Lashes would.

The only way to actually make our scene stronger is to move to Ikon and get the Charvers involved. They would love it. Thats the position Newcastle is in. Most the clubbing focus is there, bambu and baja. We'd best stay put..

We had around 230 through the door for Ben Lost. Our best night to date.

I think that Promise should relocate to disused fields/barns this summer.

    aye.
ive thought that for a while, if mark doesnt want to put smaller name dj's on at foundation, then why not put on more regular 'promise on tour' nights with djs who may not fill foundation but everyone wants to see?? the thrillseekers night will have been a good one, i only couldnt go cos it clashed with TW6, but i dunno how busy it was, but did say at the time i liked the idea of that kind of night.

same with hard nights, get some one like andy whitby, jp & jukesy ect ect (i'd say mark eg but id rather see him at foundation ;) ) and they'd pack a smaller club, and would probs satisfy the HH purists more than 'lashes on tour' and would still make money and would be quality nights too!!!!

and for the record i only missed 2 promises last year!!!! :p

It was a good night but it's still a joke that so many more people will flock to see someone like Jules as opposed to Ben Lost.
