where did that come from exactly? i was just saying that, because i cant go out of the house or fone anyone, im on the board a lot. When i said take it into consideration, i was talking to the people who in this thread say its not their life and they just come online to start trouble.

    erm...weird.

then what you said above surprises me.....if your depressed the hardest thing in the world is to break out of it...and by comparing how lucky you are to others often makes you feel worse anyways....

It depends on how you recover from it - alot of depression is just being self absorbed with your own situation rather than putting it in perspective.

Yes its difficult to break out of it, but the solution isnt to come on messageboards and annoy other people making enemies in the process .... its about taking little steps in the right direction, even the smallest ones you can manage but making sure its doing the right thing instead of digging deeper in the wrong direction.

yep.....some people suffer depression alot worse than others....
some depression is linked to chemicals in the brain...which you often can't pull yourself out of...its not a case of simply feeling sory for yourself it is something out of your control....

Yeah absolutely... but the solutions always end up being about picking up the pieces by yourself and standing on your own two feet .... all the drugs and support in the world wont ever make up for that.

Fair enough if you think if ive never had 'real' depression from what ive said - But a nightclub messageboard is a place i come to talk about music, clubs and have a laugh..... I dont think im the only one who would say this kind of stuff belongs ELSEWHERE.

true, but the drugs and support are there to help you to end up standing on your own two feet...arent they?
I have my family and doctors telling me i HAVE to take the tablets.
Friends and people on the board telling me i DONT HAVE to take the tablet.

I have one mate who wont even take paracetemol becuase they poison his system and he looks down on me for taking fluoxitine cos he believes its only making me worse. But there are a lot of people who say taking the tablets is a must and ill never get better without them.

like to point out like, i dont have to take them cos im sad and they will make me happy.

apparently, im going to have to start taking them again because without them i am not able to have rational thoughts. Which i kinda see. The crisis team on monday were explaining it as like thinking 'would be quite fun to see how quickly those curtains burn' then the rational bit saying 'erm...dangerous, lets not do that' where as i dont have the rational bit. which is how i end up randomly in newcastle or in a&e or typing crazy shit for hours on end.

the cpn is to help with the sadness.

Maybe we should set up a poll then to see what the other people who read the board think about wiping everyones private lives all over the 'Promise Mission Control' Board.

If your trying to pigeonhole me as someone who doesnt care... dont bother. But there is a serious time and a serious place for issues like this - And its not suitable for public messageboard consumption.

Is it wrong to state what 99% of the board here thinks anyways?

depression is an excuse used by people who are too lazy to particpate in normal life. it allows them to wallow in self-pity by using depression as a justification for their apathy.

Mental health and depression messageboards, councilors, friends, family ...............

.... Not alongside threads titled 'what do your farts smell of' or other similarly serious topics. Nobody denies that things like this are serious issues - but bringing them out in places like these makes them WORSE... not better.
