citizens advice right, you may remember me telling you lot about a little problem that i have had recently. I was going to get a new job at northern rock, but failed a credit check. I owe £20 to a mate, and that is it. totally. Pay me DD's on time and everything. The only thing i think it could be is my uni fees, which were supposed to be paid by my last job at LTSB. The uni finance dept had recieved loads of faxes etc, took no notice, kept sending my nasty threatening letters, which of course i took deep offence to. So i thought it had been all sorted. Maybe not with my credit report grr. I have sent off for a credit report with http://www.experian.co.uk over the phone where i had to leave my details on a recorded messsage thing. Now, problem is it hasnt turned up, thier number says press 1 to query your report (you must have your reference number handy) or option 2, order your report (you must have a debit card number) cant find any other number for them at all. Been 14 days, 10 working days since i ordered it. Trying to get in touch with citizens advice to see where i stand, what i can do etc, as ive not claimed a student loan, obv not working, can't claim dole etc - im totally fucked. Would going to a solicitor and claiming for loss of earnings work? Citizens advice is always busy though 01912868862, and don't know what else to do, who to ring. can anyone give me advice? a different number for either experian or cit advice? or, alternatively, does anyone want to be my pimp?
Can't you order it online? I'm sure that's how I got mine, but even once you've got it, if you disagree with anything on it, I'm pretty sure you've got to get written confirmation etc from both sides of the disagreement before it'll be wiped off you're report.
My credit check took about 2 weeks to come through. When it arrived, the only thing wrong was the Council had spelt my surname completely wrong on the Electoral Register so they had nobody of my name living at the address! Credit rating was excellent but because the name didn't cross-check with the register, I failed! Don't think you can do anything about loss of earnings etc as all offers of employment are subject to status etc. Think you'd be hard pushed to find someone who could/would be liabile for something like this I'm afraid...
yeah but it costs more online and it still has to be sent through. how do you mean both sides??? me and them? i very much doubt they would deny it.
Yeah, you and them. They wouldn't deny it, but it's just a fuck on to get sorted - letters to and fro etc......
get a report off http://www.equifax.co.uk/ as well most people use both agencies. If it's just the Uni thing and it's sorted you have to get them to write to both agencies telling them to change the records. It's a massive fuck on
