Where can I find out online what injections I need for my holiday please? Anyone? Or does anyone know? Ruth? Brid? Help me out guys. Dont tell me theres loads! :strop:

Depends where your going but its normally about 3/4 with a couple of top up just before you go

my mate goes abroad every year so upto date with most required injections, but last year he went to Thailand and needed another 8, god knows how many you gonna need :laugh:

When I went to Beijing I think we ended up having 4 or 6 but had to go back a couple of times cos they're only supposed to do so many at a time but dad left it too late and had to have one in his bum I had 1 in each arm and one in my thigh :cry2: May be going to Shagnhai in a couple of weeks so may need some more :evil:

Just spoke to Nurse Mammy who says you need to be up to date with your tetnus, polio & dyptheria (sp) you also need Hep a & typhoid

that might only mean 3 needles!

i had shit loads last year, aslo had to have boosters when i got home & then blood taken to make sure my levels were up for hep b! :sick:

when did you last have your tetnus (cos you had polio at the same time! so it ain't too bad! (dyptheria may have been inc too) so it might not be too bad!

i also hate needles but went thru the pain for an awesome holiday....tis so much beeter that greece or spain when you get there & then any hurty pain off the arm seems not so bad after all!

Im not sure what Ive had and when :think: I always bruise up with needles :cry2: How far in advance do I need them?

i tend to bruise & have a dead arm...i had that many i was getting them in both arms at the same sitting!

i would make sure you have them all done & dusted a min of 2/3 weeks before you travel!

Plenty of time then!!!! Think Ill be putting them off for as long as poss!

just get them over & done with as soon as so you don't end up getting them in both arms when you're there!

There's an international travel centre thing at the University medical centre - I had all mine done there before Indonesia. They keep up to date on what jabs you will need. The number is 0191 232 2973.
