Will bring up the level of uk sport with all the new facilities, lots of it will come from lottery funding and increased Turism, short term it will cost a lot but overall this is GREAT for the UK

lol itll cost much more than estimated. will we hoop get it back.

Waste of money if you ask me, whats wrong with existing stadiums!

Theres things that need the money more than a stupid sporting event!

Still good to have it in the UK i guess but I personally couldnt give a toss

Waste of money, will spend loads on new facilities that wont get used, Look at the national hockey stadium in Milton Keynes thats hardly used except for Wimbledon playing football, now were gonna build a new one that wont be used in London

    it's all good... for london.

I don't remember all this hype when Edinburg, Birmingham and Manchester were going for the their attempts at the Olympics - sooooo much coverage but hey - that's what u get for living anywhere else but london...

i'm glad we've won it - i never thought we would!

Sheffield hosted the world student games which cost millions
Short term the burden went on the tax payer
Long term the city has never looked back , with sporting facilities to rival anywhere .
To host the olympics is special everyone should be proud
I,m sure if it was the world clubbing games everyone would be .
The income generated purely from tourism is huge , plus the jobs associated with it , plus development of a huge area
    its all good .
