Horrendous/State of this country RACE KILLING: TEEN HELD A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murdering black A Level student Anthony Walker. Mr Walker, 18, was bludgeoned to death with an axe in the "vicious and unprovoked" assault in a park near his home in Huyton, Merseyside, on Friday night. Just minutes earlier he had been subjected to a "torrent of racial abuse" as he waited for a bus with his teenage girlfriend and cousin. Police say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested - an 18-year-old held on Sunday morning was released on bail. Detective chief Superintendent Peter Currie: "We have had a tremendous response from members of the public and local community following Anthony's death, and we need people to keep coming forward with information." Mr Walker was a keen basketball player who went to church and wanted to be a lawyer. He had spent the evening at home with his girlfriend, who is white. Shortly before 11.30pm on Friday, they walked to the bus stop outside Huyton Park on St John's Road so Mr Walker's girlfriend, 17, could catch a 10-minute bus-ride home to Kirkby. As the couple waited for a bus with Mr Walker's male cousin, also 17 and black, they were racially abused by a man wearing a hooded top standing outside the pub. They did not retaliate, and left to find another bus stop, because they "didn't want any bother or any trouble," police said. They were followed, and as they walked through McGoldrick Park they were attacked by a gang of three or four men. Mr Walker's girlfriend and cousin saw the axe-man bludgeon him, and ran off to get help. When they returned minutes later, they found Mr Walker slumped on the ground, with the axe still embedded in his head. He was taken to Whiston Hospital before being transferred to Walton Neurological Centre, where he died at 5.25am on Saturday. ---------------------- wtf is happening to this country at the moment. I read that racially motivated attacks have increased ten-fold since the London bombings. Think people with violent tendencies will use any excuse to get it out their system.. sad but true
You have to be absolutely off the map to be doing someone in with an axe for having a girlfriend with different skin colour
This increase in race attacks is worrying, it shows the mentality of the country and they way people tar whole groups with the same brush.... These people are no better than the terrorists if they are killing innocents
