I just passed a St Johns Ambulance course, but it was for 1st aid at work. Do you need a lot of extra qualifications to work as a volunteer with them ?????

Not to begin with, but there are courses available to progress:

    Manual handling
    Casualty handling
    Patient Care
    Communications
    Ambulance Technician

It's pretty good, get into events from free, sort people if they have problems, get a feel good factor etc. The reason I joined was I fucked up and had convulsions at a Tidy Weekender a few years back, and someone was there for me, so i consider it payback time.

But lets not kid ourselves, there are some proper wierdo's in the organisation too, not many, but it is funny having a chuckle at them.:D
