yeah it will be tough competition if they keep making themselves competition.theres loads of big venues in newcastle which are full on weekends that arent "cool" like tiger tiger and Ikon. mypoint is there are ways of filling venues which wouldnt be cool to the people who currently go to foundation, but if they take a totally different angle I think they can save the place.I dont think the current owners or management have the know how of any other styles?
Tell me, what do you do for the scene other than unessicarily give someone (who does loads for it) shit on message boards Very productive! That'll get the clubs busy again
like what? You yourself have said on this board that you dont spend anytime searching for/buying tracks, you only play what people send you.....and dont take this the wrong way ,but Im pretty confident that you aint no taste maker for the hard house kru
i dont really have ideas just i realise that newcastle mainly a party stag do city. the cool clubs are always the ones which will always be hard to fill. they just love the baja bamboo thing dont they
There's already two places of a similar size that cater very well for that kind of market - I'm not sure a third is a good idea. Si's already mentioned live music - I think that would be a really good idea, especially as the stage was redone to allow it. The place has no shortage of good uses - but people putting on events need to think about how to do it better. Soulheaven in the back room would have been awesome in combination with something else in the main room - having it all night in the main room is just boring. The only events that cut it at foundation atm are promise and smile - and on both occasions the main/back room combinations work very well, they create a good atmosphere...
I dont know why promoters dont join forces For example A hip hop night and a drumNbass/breaks night one do the upstairs and one do a big one downstairs , that way they get 2 crowds in and split the cost Too much politics involved and possibly a touch of 'too many cooks....' syndrome???
theres more than two mate Ikon tiger tiger baja blue bamboo julies sea are just a few the list is big and theres plenty room for more as it has mass apeal in this city
I hate to say this, but Im hosting a Crasher Classics Tour in Swindon in less than three weeks ... We've never had Crasher here, nor Riley & Durrant who are playing. Then theres Contagious which I also run in Swindon ... I play out pretty much every weekend at all the big hard house promotions ... Oh and nuff 'big names' play my tracks out ...
What message boards? I only really post on this one, because funnily enough I dont have owt to do with the north so I can chat about whatever I fancy on here
