Newcastle Club Life Since Promise closed theres not really much on offer for trance fans!!! How do you think this has affected the club life in Newcastle? I am writing an article on it so wouldn’t mind some feedback off you guys!!!
Re: Newcastle Club Life There are lots of trance fans bemoaning the fact that there isn't any trance, which keeps this board busy!
Cue the 'Trance v every other genre mass debate' Of course i am gutted Promise has ended and it has left a massive gap in the scene in Newcastle for me however the music (Trance) is still very much out there and as long as i have the Internet i'll always download the sets/hear about whats on offer elsewhere in the UK or indeed the rest of the world until Newcastle sorts its self out. It has broadened my musical taste a little bit more Dance wise and i'm more willing to go to a house or Techno night now so thats a good thing but they always pale in comparison to a good night of Trance
its not a debate its gathering info from people who know the trance scene a lot better than myself so i can get a point across as honestly as possible cheers for the info though
yeah i agree, were being invaded by Funky / progressive nights 'which i am not slating' but theres nothing hard / trancey about!! apart from detox every now and then
Maybe your right or maybe there waiting for the right time!!! I thought Gatecrasher was supposed to be opening a night up here
i don't think there's a MASSIVE demand for trance in newcastle... a hardcore crowd/following - but not more than 500 will to go out regulary.... big DJs would cost too much - u want local/up and coming new DJs that are inexpensive
promise tried that as well tho dint they , much to public demand , yet most of the people that wanted them on didnt even bother turning up !!!
Its not just Newcatsle thats suffering. Look at the demise of Cream and GC, to name a couple. Inside Out now rarely sees The Arches fully open, and we even managed to get NYE tickets for it at 6 PM on the day. A couple of years ago, this was unthinkable
Yeah i remember trying to buy tickets for Godskitchen 5th bday that completely sold out those were the days
What about freaky dancing? I was at the one before last at the casino rooms? Some trance and lots of harder in evidence! That rocked! ... until the UV was turned on, and my mushroom eyes had to go home cos I couldnt see any more!
Dance music in general is seeing smaller crowds. I don't think it such a bad thing as it force's people to be a bit more open mined musicaly.
