I think breastfeeding is the best idea for when you have a baby. Not only is it free and easy, but its better for your children. But. Some of the people on there were just wrong! That 8 year old and her sister, still sucking on her mother just ISNT right! And even the 4 yr old, he'll be going to school, hows he meant to still do it? Its just not neccessary
I fully support breastfeeding, but any mother who does it past 1-2 years seems to me to be the sort of mother who will never want to let her kids go and do their own thing ...... I pity the poor kids !!!
If i could breast feed i would. My mother breastfed all 3 of us until 18 months, then she decided to wean us off...They say breastfeeding helps children not to get asthma, eczema and allergies...since we all suffer quite badly from all 3, i'd say mum did a great job feeding as we would all be dead by now if not. My elder sister was breast feeding her daughter, planned to wean her off at 18 months, but rebecca just stopped wanting it...she was on her feetm on the move, she didnt want to stop to eat. Id love to breastfeed my children, and i have no problems with doing it in public. When rebecca was abuot 3 months old, we were in a book shop in leeds, and she started crying, vicki went to the baby changing room but it was crowded, so she sat in one of the chairs and did it...she was very discreet, you couldnt see the breast, but some of the people in the store gave her horrible looks and one man stood and watched and then commented rather loudly that he thought this was a book shop, not a brothel. We had been in the shop for 1/2 an hour, we had bought books and stayed for a coffee, and now the baby was hungry...They would have been more annoyed at a baby screaming for milk i would have thought. I cant breast feed i have been told due to the size of my breasts and areola (sp) so im finally getting that breast reduction ive always wanted. The only reason i havent got it before is because i wanted to breast feed. Breast feeding is natural...you wouldnt ban a cow from a field for the calf suckling, humans are just all too uptight to remeber that breast milk is the best thing for a baby.
That depends whether you want a good night's sleep But yes it does get into the milk so it's not recommended .......
