    18 gauge speaker cable ......?

Ok im not sure if im being stupid or not here but ive just bought a new surround sound unit and the cable supplied is 18 gauge , thing is tho the cable for the rear speakers isnt long enuff so i need to find replacement cable , ive looked on maplins , ebay etc but i cannot find 18 cauge cable anywhere , is this just standard speaker cable and thats why its not stated as 18 gauge or do i actually need special cable ??

Just to add its for the logitech 5500z surround sound unit , which is 500w and thx certified if that makes any odds ???

    Cheers in advance
